What if a moose had a gigantic multi-pointed, antler-shaped hat and he couldn't just leave it on his antlers, because that would entail wearing it? Then the moose would need a hatrack, wouldn't he smart guy?
Actually, perhaps not. Your argument is premised on a Moose needing to remove such a hat.
You see, a hatrack is generally placed just inside the front door so that the resident might not offend by still wearing their hat within the confines of the house. Since very few folk actually invite moose into the home, this need for a hatrack would be, for the most part, eliminated. The actual need to remove the hat for practical reasons comes generally when it is too warm, and since moose tend to live in colder climates and remain outdoors (see above), this reason would be eliminated as well. The only other reason most folk need to remove a hat is to sleep. Since Moose sleep standing up, this final reason would no longer be an issue either. Therefore I contend that the Moose, even if afforded the appropriate hat, would likely NOT need a hatrack, making Charlie's statement valid.
Besides, the Moose has no hands. How is he supposed to twirl the hat dashingly and toss it onto the rack in the first place?

I had a moose over to my place once. We just chilled out and watched the Flyers; moose love hockey. At one point the moose asked me for a beer, but all I had in the fridge was Moosehead, which I didn't notice until I handed him one. It was... awkward.
