Go to step number 7.

Look at the picture.

This is exactly why you should not eat crap like this.

It makes my arteries clog just thinking about it.

It has been decided, EVERYTHING is better with bacon.

In fact, even bacon is better with bacon.

I doubt there is anything that I would normally eat, that if someone offered me bacon while I was eating it, I would refuse on the basis of bacon not going with it.

Its really not a far stretch from Bacon + Syrup. And if you have bacon with your pancakes you know what thats all about.

As long as the food is technically edible there is nothing in this world I wont try. So far I havent found a food that I wouldnt eat again if given a chance.

Ever had carribean style Souse?

I ate a scorpion out of a vodka bottle once. And several years ago Mitts threw a BBQ and made BBQ Cicada's, they were delicious. Would definitely try Tarantula.

I <3 Bacon and syrup!

One time I had the most delightful "accident", syrup fell into the frying pan and carmalized the bacon. It was hard as a rock but tasted awesome.

When I say "fell" what I mean to say is poured it in on purpose.

I've never been able to reproduce the effect though :(

When it comes to food I'm a staunch believer in the "I'll try anything once motto".
I'll have to think of something clever to bring to the first event for everyone...Hmmm....

In Home Ec, at my instigation, we made chocolate covered ants and bees for a snack when the school board visited.  Big hit.  We also made honey covered grasshoppers, after ethering them and griddling them.  Since I take Lipitor as my normal cholesterol of 200 does not suit my physician due to my diabetes, I can eat anything, although she shudders when hearing of my downing half and halfs.

If someone was to bring chocolate bacon to Market Faire...

Tarantula has the texture of crab meat but far more tender and without the briney flavor, very plain.
Large females with eggs can give you more protein than a couple chicken breasts. The eggs are very bitter however and can ruin the rest of the meat for most people if not seperated before cooking.

If you plan on cooking it they must be seared first over an open flame to remove any stray hairs, breathing in these hairs can be fatal to people with asthma and really really irritating to anyone else.
Its kinda like breathing in fiberglass.

Craig, watch them prepare mannish water and then have a serving.  I have no doubt you would do it, but still...

Im eating spiders.

Grasshoppers are not creepy crawlies.  Maybe at Market Faire I can try them covered with honey.  Pet stores carry them for lizards, in live form, IIRC. :)  I know Craig at least will try one.

Besides, when heating the grasshoppers on a griddle, the butter adds a nice flavor when mixed with honey.
