I am sure by now most of you have heard the rumors of a body found. While we do not know the killer, rest assured that the safety of all citizens is a top priority. With Ser Tristram's permission, I will be forming a nightly patrol. If you are capable and wish to assist, contact me for more details.

In addition, if you are a citizen who is concerned about traveling alone at night, please send me a missive and I will do my best to arrange an escort for you.

If I am not mistaken, the Empire's laws have placed Ser Tristram in command of all aspects of securing our lovely town. It is only the laws of the usurper Kingdom that you attempt to claim any authority. Why yes, former Captain, I did agree to my squire to setting up this patrol. A dutiful approach to lessons in such knightly duties, don't you agree?
I applaud her diligence in proactive action to protect the citizens. I certainly look forward to seeing her results.

While I do appreciate and understand your concern, Captain Bertram, I did make sure to take the necessary steps. As stated in my original call and confirmed by Ser Tristram, I do have my Knight's permission for such a task.

Whomever is committing such atrocities has no respect for the authority of this land, and certainly none for the might of Gaaldron that reside within their midst. At the very least Tiberius and I will patrol the town. Not with you mind you, we find that you Kormyrians lack the organization of a true military squad, but we will patrol at the same time. Should they escape you, they will not escape us.

I most certainly intended to bring you and the others along. Two does not make a squad. I plan to hear what the Squire has to say for a few minutes before we patrol, so be ready by sunset outside the inn. If you can keep all that bone-breaking in you until then, it will be useful, I'm sure, on our watch.

I will listen to what you have to say, you are used to this area, but I would prefer to patrol with those who understand the orders we will shout and know our formations. Perhaps another day when we are not specifically trying to cover much ground at all times. The more ground constantly covered the more likely we are to run into this individual, or at least prevent someone from dying. I know I for one, will not tolerate for any of Gaaldron's lives to be lost to this murderer.

Given materials, snares and other fun things can be made.

I would prefer to be safe during this visit. The forest is odd enough.

Your words are true and something I had already considered. If there are groups that know each other best, I would rather them be lead by one that knows their ways instead of presuming that I know how to handle them. I have a feeling there are things we can learn from each other so long as we keep lines of communication open.

If you can get me a list of things you would need for the task, I would appreciate it. I will present it to Ser Tristram and see what can be acquired. I will work with you to find some of the best spots for these snares and traps and ensure that all who are patrolling know of their locations.

While this is all well and good, and I assure you that seeing the Guard and the Knights active disdain for each other really does warm the cockles of my heart and does much to reassure me, might I be so bold as to inquire what I and the other less armed among us can do to protect ourselves against whatever this is? I have this strange personal preference to not being tortuously murdered.

For the time being, I highly recommend avoiding traveling alone at all costs, especially at night. If you do not have people to travel with, I will happily provide an escort for those who wish the extra protection.

While I can make a useful enough trap out of almost any kind of material, if you want something very nicely made, it gets a bit trickier. Mind you, I have the skill to use any of these materials to make any of these kinds of traps. The preference of material only exists when I am working on making something look as nice as it works. In this case, I will happily take what I can get. Payment is preferred in more materials.

Lycanbone , Corpsewood, and Runic Weave can be used to help create resetting mechanisms.

Manaleaf and Runic Weave can be used to set a bells easily for a loud trigger.

Mythril and Sphinx Heart helps make a trigger sturdy enough to affect multiple targets.

Wyvern Scale can be used to help spread out the area of a trap.

I hope the requisition list is accepted. It sounds like you may need all the help you can get.

If you'd rather decline an escort, I am happy to offer my expertise and teach you the best ways to defend yourselves or escape an attempted attack at whatever skill or arm level you may be. Yet, I urge caution with a potential outcropping of agents whose sole purpose is to spread discord in this land, what with word of the Count's connections on the wind.
