Rules Update/Clarification 09-30-08 was created by Lord Renaudierre (Sir Renaudierre)
The below is a clarification of who may sign off on the various rules and functions at KR. Previously we did not have this clearly defined. It will updated into the website soon.
[hr]
The Director, or the Rules Officers ONLY:
Permenant Magic item cards
Any Officer:
Donations for SP
Submission of RP cards
Submission of Commodity Cards
Camp & Cabin Cleanup
Sleeping OOG
Any Officer or RM:
Sorcery or Divine Rituals (Non-Permenant)
Any Officer or MM:
Item Cards for Treasure
Area Notes
Players:
Items that a PC makes (Alchemy, Smithing Items)
Effects that player casts (Latent Spells & Prayers, Mass, Healing from Critical)
Teaching Skills (PC or NPC)
All signatures should be the player's initials, and character number. If you are NPCing, add NPC to the end (i.e. - "JCK 666 NPC") to specify who you are, but that it's not your PC.
If you have permission to sign off on something, you are able to sign it for yourself, with the exception of Rituals (which must be marshaled anyways).

I think the confusion arose when you forgot the C in James C Kimball, which is very important when stating James' initials.
Because we all know James C Kimball is never just kidding.

What about Scholarly output. As there is a cost involved, someone has to take the gold.
Specifically, four no cost groups: Psalms, Scroll, Canticles and whatever.
Three cost skills: Manuscripts, codexii (SP), and tomes.

because it's an item card, I'd say it would fall to the MM on duty at the time. Turning the gold in to Logistics would be the appropriate action.

For crafting smithing items or alchemy for that mater, can the pc carry a few blank item cards so as not to have to walk up to logistics every time they need to make something? Also should spent material cards be torn up and tossed or just recirculated by turning them in at logistics?

I know there may be other concerns involved (or not, but I'm always a paranoid one), but I'd certainly be interested in talking about a system that both makes life easier without sacrificing proper procedure. I know a thought that came to my mind was coming up with an "official seal" in the form of a stamp or something that could be used to mark cards. Don't know if that would even be necessary, but I'm in brainstorming mode, somebody stop me!

Quoted because I'd like an answer on this as well. It would certainly be easier for me personally if I could keep blank or unsigned alchemy cards say, in my alchemy chest and simply produce them as I brew potions, rather than having to march to logistics after each sit and grind. For crafting smithing items or alchemy for that mater, can the pc carry a few blank item cards so as not to have to walk up to logistics every time they need to make something?

Yes, you may ask for blanks at check-in, to carry with you.
Materials used up in the process of creating an items should be turned into Logistics, or to a Rules or Monster Marshal. That way, it's been verified that you're actually using the materials (i.e. - if we see a smith make 5 mithril swords, and no one has ever seen him turn in any material cards, there's a problem).
