SP Auction (Raffle Method) was created by Gallion (Gallion)
SP Auction (Raffle Method)

For the SP auction there will be two methods. We will be doing the traditional auction as we do every year. In addition to the normal SP auction we will be doing a raffle style auction for each of the three brackets. This new auction will take place prior to the traditional one.

Why
The people who are in the low end of each bracket tend to have a snowballs chance in hell at winning anything. We created this additional method for the benefit of those people. So that no matter what they at least have a chance of winning something if they want to.

How It Will Work
There will be two items in the low and mid category and high category. Those six items will be on display and will have containers next to them, similar to the three main auction items. You can use the SP on your card to buy tickets for this raffle. You buy these tickets during the halftime break of the banquet.  You may only win something that fits within your bracket and if you win one of these items you may not bid on items through the traditional sp auction. Winners will be drawn at the beginning of each SP bracket, and the winner must be present in order to win, otherwise a new winning ticket will be drawn. The ratio of SP for tickets is as follows:

Tickets
Low Bracket = 50 SP for 1 Ticket
Mid Bracket = 500 SP for 1 Ticket
High Bracket = 2000 SP for 1 Ticket

The items are being posted below so that you can see them now and spend less time learning about them at the actual banquet.

Low Bracket 1 – 1000 SP
- Unicorn Statue – Trinket of “Blink” 3 charges
- Minor Key of Entry – one use of Pick Basic, Pick Complex and Pick Masterwork Locks ever

Mid Bracket 1000 – 10,000
- Leprechauns Lucky Mug – Choose at sign in either +5 gold, or Luck x1 per weekend.
- Gorgan’s Head Snake – Immunity to “Flesh to Stone” Can cast “Flesh to Stone” x2 per period.

High Bracket 10,000+
- Bottle of Red Dragon’s Breath – Pour on any weapon to increase stats: +1 Magic Fire, Take ½ damage from fire attacks.
- Tome of Replication – Place any one Scroll, Psalm, Canticle or Ballad inside of the book at night before going to bed. In the morning that item is duplicated. (Max of 2 per event)

Quick Edit on the Tome of Replication:

Place any one Scroll, Psalm, Canticle or Ballad inside of the book at night before going to bed. In the morning that item is duplicated. (Max of 2 per event) 1nce per weekend you may ask the tome a question by writing it on a piece of paper and placing it in the book. If the book decides to answer the question, the answer will appear hidden somewhere in the book and will take ten minutes of searching to find it.

Is there a separate post being made for the other style of SP auction or are one of the items listed here in each level going to be for each style?

Is the Bottle of Red Dragon's Breath a temporary or permanent change to the item it is used on?

To answer Geoff's question, when I was talking to James today he said that the Bottle of Red Dragon's Breath is a permanent change that can even be used on items that are already enchanted.  So, it's pretty good :)

One last question - what will be the order of the auctions / drawings?  This may affect how people want to spend points - for example, if the SP Auction comes after the Raffle, they may want to save SP for the Auction, but if the Raffle is after the Auction, those people who still have SP left can buy more tickets.

Am I correct in assuming that if you win a prize in any given area (Raffle, SP Raffle, SP Auction), you can't win something in the other two?

1) The traditional style auction items remain a mystery until the time of the auction.

2) At half time break you purchase tickets for the raffle style items with SP. At the beginning of the SP auction we will first draw the winners of the bracket we are on, than we will proceed with the traditional auction. If you win something during that phase, than yes you cannot bid. If you do not win, you have gambled away some SP, but you can still bid in the auction with your remaining SP.
