The Knight Realms Forums have a new link!

This is the long-awaited "Wrapped" forums that have the full menu on the left side, as they did a little over a year ago.  Despite some bugs in the original code, we were able to get back to the classic feel!

The old link will still work, but the forums will look odd, as the layout is now designed to work with the new setup.  The old link is also best if used from a mobile device, such as a phone:

There's one minor bug I still need to work out - the Google Maps.  I'm aware of that and will be working on a solution over the next few days.

Please update your bookmarks to the new Forums!

Apparently the "next few days" is me realizing I had a typo and getting it fixed... 

Can't access PM's at the moment.

If you are having problems logging in, and only getting a blank white screen, or a screen with some code on it, PLEASE RESET YOUR PASSWORD.  This will allow you to log back in.

I'm looking into this one - as a workaround, use the "Mobile" forums on the left to get to the old, un-wrapped version.  I know it's a pain, hopefully I can get the PM thing fixed soon.

Do we need to be re-granted access to marshal boards? For some reason I can see the RM boards but whenever I click on a topic is takes me to a blank page.

when you fill out the event recap form, there are a number of undefined variable errors.

I may need to disable this - I'm seeing more errors that did not come up this morning when I was testing things.

EDIT: It's been disabled for now, although you can still log in on the main Website, too.

The PMs thing is fixed, and the RM boards should be, too.  I'll look at Vince's thing next.

I'm also having a problem with my pms.  I can access them, but it automatically goes to the second page.  When I try to go back to the first page, to access earlier pms, I seem to get a blank screen.  Any ideas, I've tried refreshing, signing out and back in. 

I've set everything back to the old link:

Use that for now, until I can get this figured out. 

Every time I post I get this message in red:  "Warning - while you were reading a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post."  Since there is never a new message, I think it is reporting my post to me.

OK, so the problem is apparently if there are too many posts per page, it blanks out.

I've changed things around so it will show less posts per page (it'll just move them to page 2, etc.).

I NEED YOUR HELP TESTING THE NEW LINK.  In other words, the new Forums are a Mod Boss  - I need you all to beat on it until it goes down or gives up.  (No, not hack it.  I'm not that confident...)

Log in, and poke around.  Yes, it will look a bit odd, with the double banners - that will be fixed when the switch goes live / permanent.

What I am looking for:  Can you read all the topics you normally can?  Can you read your PMs fine?  Can you log into your Profile and update things?

HUGE thanks to Paul, for helping test this.  I'll give it until Wed. night before I throw the switch, so we have about 48 hours to try and find things wrong with the new setup.

Broken images (those wonderful little [X] things) will go away when the switch happens, along with the double banners at the top.

So far, from what I have been able to check out limited on my end... we look ok.  I noticed that the calendar in the forum info panel at the bottom isn't showing any upcoming events or birthdays, but that isn't a major deal right now.

So far, all access and priveleges seem to be ok on my end for standard user with no deputy or marshal rights for splitting/moving posts.  I am not an IG noble, so I haven't been able to post in the IG noble announcements.  If an IG noble can do that for me, I would appreciate it.

Copy, paste, font modification (bold, underline, etc), quotes, pictures, hyperlinks and such all look ok.  The spell checker isn't working on ym work PC, but was working when I was testing from home.  I think the browser may have something to do with it.  I use IE 7 at home, but I have IE 6 on my work PC.

Can someone else verify this?

Let me know if you need anything else done from my end.

Cutting and pasting work fine for me, as does underlining.  I'm on a Mac using 10.4.

That's normal, Charlie.  That happens whenever you hit the Back button, because it's detecting the post you just made.

From the Racketeer List I clicked on the Loan shark Promo skill and it took me to the top of the list, not to Loan Shark.  I then tried four other random Professions, Scholar, Druid, Warrior, and Healer with the same results.

That has nothing to do with the Forums...  I'll deal with that later.

When using the spellchecker on forum posts (not PM's), the pop-up window included the leftside menu.  It doesn't show the text of the message you are spell checking and the lower menu portion that has the Change To:, Suggestions: fields, and the function buttons seems to be aligned improperly.

OK, good one to know.  I'm not sure if we'll be able to fix that one, but I'll see what I can do.  I may disable Spell Checking in the meantime... not that people around here use it...

I was unable to login for awhile but fixed it by resetting my password. If anyone has any issues logging in try that first.

Not a big issue, but on some of the pages, its not diplaying the right borders for the forum boxes.

Let me know which pages (Links if you can) and I'll check it out.
