With our upcoming new player drive and with the weather turning nice, we are going to be enjoying the company of tons of new players in the coming months!
Even though I have great pride in our community, it is nevertheless very worthwhile to remind people about a few things. These great new players we are going to welcome in are going to be playing both NPCs and PCs, and in both cases will likely be learning our combat system and game rules in the process. They might not yet know the skills they have very well and they may not know the skills you call on them very well. The very important reminder id like to share is simply, don’t forget to be kind and have patience!
If you are a new player you should feel free to pause for a second and ask for a clarification if you do not know something. You are not expected to know everything your first event. Over time you will learn the system bit by bit. Instead you should focus on the most core aspects of the rules and the golden rule of have fun and role-play.
If you are an existing player you should look out for people who need help and give them encouragement. Remember to be patient with people who are learning the rules. Giving them some time, assurance and encouragement will help them learn much faster and is a much more productive method in a community that is based on making friends and having a great time!
