Starting this month, we are changing the rewards for the Chronicle in the following way:
A news article or informative piece (and any single art piece at Chronicle Staff/Storyteller request) will be rewarded with 1 full build, 400 SP and 10 Gold.
An anecdote, story, poem or song (and any single art piece without specific request) will be rewarded with 400 SP and 10 Gold.
Ads will remain the same - 5 Gold once for one I can use over. 2 Gold for a one-time run ad.
These rewards will now EXPIRE after 1 year. That means if you do not speak to Thalia for something written for WITL 2016 until July of 2017, you lose those rewards.
What does this mean for you? We are looking to add more -actual- news to our newspaper, and are offering incentive for you, the player, to report actual happenings from events to us. This does not have to be a plot recap (though one or two of those is always welcome), but can be a follow-up to a smaller mod/plot (Kaladonia plot, Alisandria plot, etc.) This may also be something that a storyteller would reach out to you for, and have you write. This would help further plot and share info.
Lastly, I am looking for IG scholars to help with a new continuing article. It will be "Monster of the Month" or something similar (suggestions welcome). This will be written like a Lore for the monster. The monster for each month will be selected by storytellers, and assigned to someone with that Lore (who is willing/able to write on it).
This Lore will be LEARNABLE (yes, you read that right) - as long as you meet the requirements to learn a Lore (i.e. have one build to spend). If you choose to learn it, you will write "Lore: [Monster x]" on your card, and the Teacher will be listed as "Chronicle".
One or more printed copies of each edition of the paper will be in a book on the scholar's table (please message me if you'd be willing to create an IG-looking binder for this), and will still be learnable in subsequent months.
Please note: you will not be able to learn these Lores from the PDF put up on the site. Only on the physical copy with the note to learn it, will this count.
We are also looking for artists to -draw- the Monsters of the Month, as this adds to the atmosphere.
Please reach out to me with any questions. You can message me here or on Facebook (Onca Jump), or email .
Thank you!

Nalick wrote: What's an example of an informative piece?
Any piece that details something that occurred either at an event or between events (e.g. land action results that are particularly interesting).
For instance: Nalick and friends run into some bandits on the road during Feast. They manage to talk them around to changing their ways (like Nalick does), and take their previously-gained riches to start a new school. Nalick tells the tale of their reversal.
Or:
Chet is learning a lesson on how to track. He makes the mistake of asking Lorelai to teach him. She teaches him and ends up tracking down a Vampire. Chet tells the tale of how he, Lorelai, and the onlooker that was wandering with them defeated/barely escaped.
Whereas the following differs:
Nalick tells about how he and several bards in town wrote a song about the Seneschal and managed to get her to crack a smile.
Pretty much, any mod, land action, or plot information. Also acceptable would be information on things like Light Masses (the schedule I've been including would count), and the Monster of the Month column. If you are uncertain where your submission might fall, please feel free to send it/your idea to the chronicle staff early on, and we can give you some input.

Chet is learning a lesson on how to track. He makes the mistake of learning from Oren. Chet becomes a witch hunter.

I will seriously learn more lores for this, it's great for my PC, and I would LOVE the RP it would add. If scholars want it, hey I dig that too. I'd be willing to co author things too. I DISNT know this was a thing. I freaking love it....(starts writing undead lores)

Right now, he's most interested in monsters associated with Gods and monsters associated with Chaos. He'll be picking up many lores on those topics from July onward, and already has a good assortment of them so far.

Absolutely, I can add you to the list of people to tap for this. I want to give everyone an opportunity to write for the chronicle, even if they don't have news, so I'll spread it amongst several.

Remember that land action results are canon, as well, so please do not add anything that changes the outcome, just details or personal reaction to the response. I can work with the land marshals to get this clarified more if enough people want to do something similar.

Brother Germaine: "I just thought you all should know that earlier tonight we killed T'bal."
*blank stares*
Arlington: "Huzzah?"
Brother Germaine: "You know, the enemy that has menaced us for over a year and murdered many of our friends? He's dead."
*a couple of nods*
Arlington: "I believe you can attribute our subdued response to the fact that we're eating bacon."
Brother Germaine: "You have bacon?"
