List of Lores was created by Jack (Keeperofdice)
Hey everyone! So after several weeks of trials, tribulations, and using a thesaurus, we now have a comprehensive list of Lores! With this list we have a stronger grasp of what is available as far as lore in the game world for both players and those running plot.

Now instead of needing one incredibly specialized lore (Example: Lore: Draconic Cairn Rituals) You can use a variety of lores at your disposal and combine them (Example: Lore: Dragon, Rituals, and Places of Power) giving individuals broader knowledge that can become specific rather than putting build into one shot lores that will only come up once. This makes the investment of build into lores more worthwhile and allowing you to get more bang for your buck.

This list is by no means set in stone as what will only ever be available, however because of the nature of it's broadness most lores an individual can think of can be reached with a combination of these things. As plot needs new avenues for lore to be put into the game world via Monsters/Cultures/Regions and the like, this list will grow and be updated accordingly.

This list will be made available at logistics.

If you play a scholar and have build that was refunded or lores that were lost from this consolidation please send me a message at with the lores you would like added to your card. Thank you again for your patience!

Restricted Lores are not publicly listed as they are going to be learned/given out in specific plot instances and situations.

They are listed on the Lore List for Marshal/Storytellers to use regarding Plots.

Correct. These are all the monster lores currently learned/in the database. Anyone is more than welcome Fate of Guidance to learn a monster lore about a non-specific variation... I.E. Undead and then Zombies are fine but then furthering it to Greater Zombies is too specific.

So Giants are Ok, Fire/Frost/Storm/Hill Giants are great. But Fire Giant Lord is too specific. I hope this helps!

Why Regional Lore: Ja'Hagon, when that is just [strike]a random city[/strike] the capitol of Amon'Zad (Shouldn't this be the equivalent of Regional Lore: Amon'Zad+Regional Lore: Cities)?

Also: Does this mean "Lore: Monster (Any) (1)" off of Commoner has been changed to "Creature Lore (Any) (1)"?

The specific desert is called: The Dunes of Amon'Zad,
The "kingdom" is the twin Cities: Ja'Hagon and Tapier.

You could use Lore: Amon'Zad + Cities to learn about the Cities in Amon'Zad, however there is a level of specificity that is allowed regarding lores: Example: The individual Baronial Estates have a rich/interesting/and varied history, While you could have Lore: Travance + Cities, Lore - Kaladonia would be helpful in learning about more in depth knowledge concerning that land.

Lore: Monster (Any) (1) is going to be changed to "Creature Lore (Any) (1) yes.

This was done as there is a blurred line on when does a race/creature become a monster and vice versa.

A few quick inquiries:

1) If you have an approved chronicle stating that your character use to live in a region, can you instruct scholars about that lore like you can regarding racial culture and language?

2) When they are sent out, are restricted lores only learnable by scholars?

3) Does this mean that those wishing to preform a ritual need to have Lore: Ritual off of scholar?

4) Why can a physician not learn Lore: Medicine?

1. Yes, like Racial and Sub-Racial Lores, you are considered to have the Lore of your Homeland.

2. No. You do not need to be a scholar to learn a Restricted Lore.

3. You do not need to have Lore: Rituals to conduct a Ritual. However that knowledge will help in researching them. As a reminder: You CAN still interview a Sorcerer/Ceremonialist/Elder in regards to such things, however lores that concern lists do not exist in a learnable format.

4. A physician by virtue of having the list and therefore the associated lore would actually be a more valuable asset than some one with Lore: Medicine. The same would be for an Alchemist vs. A scholar with Lore: Alchemy.

There is no benefit for an alchemist or a physician to pick up alchemy or medicine respectively. Lores are meant to be representations of areas of study and knowledge. However being that both classes have made it their lifes work to pursue that endeavor and by virtue of that have Lore: Alchemist, and Lore: Physician they are essentially overqualified concerning those lores.

Still unclear on why they wouldn't be able to teach it to a scholar in the same way that they can teach Lore: Poison, but I will conceed since the above makes sense as to why they do not need the Lore.

Final inquiry for the night:
How will new lores be learned if one wishes to Fate for a Monster Lore that is not on the list? For example, Lore: Sucubius. Does Lore: Demons or Lore: Demon Lords cover this?

Lore: Poison/Disease are on their lists, Medicine is not, if they were to "teach" Medicine they'd essentially be teaching the person that list.

Regarding other monster lores: Those are currently the only ones in the database however you can fate of guidance any appropriate non-existent monster lore and provided it is NOT too specific it will be added. in this case: Lore: Succubi is absolutely appropriate. As would Imps, and the like.

Yes as per the skill from the rulebook, you do.

Lore: Divinity
Skill (Continuous), Knowledge
To learn this skill, a character must be baptized to a god. With this skill, a character is deeply knowledgeable in the mythology of the gods, the order of their realms, and their tenets and symbols. In addition, the character is knowledgeable about religious practice – very specifically in the case of their chosen deity and gods of the same pantheon (if applicable) and generally in the case of other gods.

Additionally it was ruled that Lore: Alchemy, and Lore: Medicine are going to be removed from the list of lores so that should a scholar wish to do/research something involving those two things, they instead need to consult with a physician or alchemist, thereby keeping the exclusivity of lower lists and encouraging roleplaying with other classes!

So a Priest, Cleric, or Divine Scholar with Lore: Divinity will still have to have Lore: Religion to teach other people Lore: Religion, right? Even though Lore: Divinity and Profession Lore: Priest/Profession Lore: Cleric are probably deeper versions of that same Lore.
