Black & Gold Skirmish - Sunday of Week in the Life event was created by GJSchaller (GJSchaller)
Steve and I will be hosting an IG Wargames on Sunday of the WitL event. The idea of the games is for people to be able to shake out their cards and test what they can do with the new rules, while also allowing James & Tori to observe a (controlled) PvP event without long-term consequences to the players.
Details will be posted once we hash out the finer points. The short version is there will be a marble bag draw to pick teams (Gold & Black marbles in a bag), and leaders will NOT be from Nobility. Younger players who want to try their hand at being a team captain should approach Gideon & Aleister AT THE EVENT (not beofore then!) to be considered. We will also encourage the two leaders chosen to pick Lieutenants and squads to be more effective. There will be 15 minutes to organize, plan, and cast buffs, and then the melee begins to capture the opposing lord!

The rules for the game have been posted to the IG forums.
The start time has been moved to Noon so that people can clean out their bunks beforehand, in accordance with James’ normal cleanup policy.
This is a controlled PvP battle. No lasting status effects, other than item consumption, will result from the games.
The rules for the Diplomats are set so that you can’t insta-win - you need to actually work for a win. You can’t move a Diplomat by using any game mechanical effects, only by walking them.
The intent of this, from an OOG standpoint, is two-fold: First, to allow players to shake down their cards and get used to working with their new skillsets, as well as with other players, in a melee. The other is for James and Tori to watch a large-scale fight that involves PvP, and make sure the rules are balanced across a multitude of interactions and combinations.
Although this is PvP and there will be a winning team, we encourage good sportsmanship, giving each other slack, and making the competition enjoyable for everyone involved.

Question: Are you ejected from the tournament upon hitting the Incapacitated state or upon hitting the Critical state?

The intent is just before Death. This gives defensive / healing PCs a role to play, not just offensive ones.
In light of the recent rules on Incap / Crit / Death / Killing Blow, Tori and I need to re-evaluate if we'll discourage Killing Blows or not. Otherwise, it becomes a lot harder to eliminate the competition.

Clarification:
If you are incapacitated for five minutes, you are automatically ejected. (This will prevent the game from dragging on too long with people being able to be healed for a long period of time.)
If you enter a Critical state of health, you are automatically ejected.
We still discourage using Killing Blows or skills / combos that will send someone straight to Crit in a casual fashion. You are not prevented from doing so, but choosing to be this aggressive is likely to get you targeted very quickly by the opposing team.
