Feb 2020 Event Between Game Actions

A Fallen Knight and his soldiers, a famed pirate, a cult of assassins, and a Scholar of the Arcane who doesn’t believe in limits have banded together under the banner of the Red Glove. They are on the hunt for the pieces of an ancient arcane lock that can seal and unseal a place called the Tower of the Blinding Glory, a place that can only be accessed on the 29th day of the 2nd month. What is inside is unknown, but it is believed to be both powerful and extremely dangerous.

With the help of a pair of Academics, several denizens of Travance are off on a quest to repair an artifact that will aid them in finding out more about this Lock, and follow an ancient stone map. A clue left behind by a powerful sorceror.

Two people from Travance find themselves once again a guest of the villains. Others have begun planning to infiltrate the Red Glove’s stronghold.

And still, a force of Travancians have spent the past month hunting the Pirate fleet, driving them ashore, where they plan to continue hounding the Red Gloves forces as they perform their nefarious missions.

With only weeks until the Tower can be accessed, both Travance and the Red Glove are escalating their preparations. There are many things to be done and only so much time. So what are you going to do about it?

While the actual adventure to stop the Red Glove will be played out during the Feb event, there is still a story to be told to lead into it. We want to ensure that the most people possible can participate, and be engaged.

So the story of what happens between game will be covered in a series of short stories, sent out via e-mail. The narrative will progress twice a week, and each story will end with a cliffhanger, plot twist, or choice, as befits a dramatic adventure. Players who choose to participate will be given a series of choices on how to proceed, and the next installment will continue the story a few days later, and you will see how your choices played out. Installments will be sent out Tuesday, and Friday, around 5:00 pm. You are free to role play about your adventure in facebook chats, discord, wherever you would like. Feel free to use these stories to help flavor your RP, and give you something to chat about. You can even post on the Knight Realms forums to share information. (Unless you are in enemy territory, messages from there will be restricted.) However, while your role play may be used to help flavor the short stories, you can only impact how events play out via the choices made at the end of each short story. You do not have to coordinate with your fellow players on what choices you make, however even if you go solo, your story may intertwine with other people engaged in the same activity. Everyone is free to participate in this. It does not matter if you are planning to attend the Feb event or not.

Edit for some important clarifications:
First - if you have any role play or planning chats and you want them to influence what happens in the short stories I need to be in said chats.
Second - you can participate with multiple characters, alts can come too.
Third, and most important - by choosing to participate in this you are to a degree relinquishing control of your character to me, as I will be writing what they say and do during the short story. I will use your submissions, planning, and observations to try and keep as close to what you would like to do as I can, however your character will be at the mercy of the story. The only place you are guaranteed to have the choices you make work the way you expect them to is when you pick one of the options at the end of each story. The trade off for this more on the rails story telling is that you will have a direct impact on the lead up to game, and you get to watch me write fan fiction about all of your characters.

For those participating in the between game short stories or intending to join up, the next chapter will be the penultimate. This will be the last chance to fill out the survey and join in any of the stories before the finale.
