To start off 2009 with good intentions, Knight Realms will be working with all of you to do our part to help The American Cancer Society.  The money collected will be used for all types of cancer research.  The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service. With more than two million volunteers nationwide, the American Cancer Society is one of the oldest and largest voluntary health agencies in the United States.

The prizes awarded for this fund-raiser will be as follows:


First Prize:    Iron Mantle:  While mundane in appearance, this mantle confers magical protections.  Its basic protection renders the bearer immune to waylay while the hood is worn over the head.  In addition, the bearer is able to invoke Willpower x2 and Courage x2.  It is a permanent magic item and will be attuned to the winner for 3 months.

Second Prize:  Eye Glass of Translation:  An eye glass that can give the bearer a complete comprehension all basic written languages for a 12 month duration.  It also possess 3 charges that enable the bearer to read and use any scrolls which are magical in nature.  The charges for this function will remain in the item until used.

Third Prize:  Ring of Armor:   A finely crafted ring that grants the unarmored wearer 40 armor points (until used) and a soak of 2 (continuously-not stackable with any other armor or items).  The ring recharges itself each period within a weekend.  It is a magical effect and can not can not be repaired through normal smithing means.  This item has a 12 month duration.



Tickets will be on sale for $5.00 each (starting at the January event) and 100% of the profits will go to our charity supporting The American Cancer Society.  Any and all straight donations will also be accepted, regardless of amount.


Tickets will be on sale during check-in on Friday near logistics for a few hours and sometime on Saturday, most likely during market faire (when possible).  Details will be announced at each event up until the April drawing during the Baron’s feast.  If necessary, the drawing will be pushed back to the next available month Knight Realms holds an event.

We will gladly accept quality donations for this or future fund-raising events including silent auctions.  We plan on running 3 large fund-raisers per year with additional charity drop offs like holiday toy donations or blanket drives.  Details will be posted throughout the year with instructions on when and how you can help.

This is the last month for the KR membership to help a great cause like The American Cancer Society.  It's also the last chance you will have to get on on the raffle for the great prizes we are offering for this time around.

Stop by logistics and Saturday afternoon to purchase the remaining tickets.  We will have the drawing before the feast on Saturday.
