The Doe Fund - May to Aug 09' was created by dedrite (dedrite)
Help the Homeless

Different factors can influence a persons life in a negative way.  Vices, Abuse, Mental illness, the death of family members or a sequence of unfortunate events can beat a person down to the point they feel they have no where to turn, so they become another homeless person wandering the streets of a city or town.  A strong and positive influence is the best way to reverse these terrible misfortunes and life altering events.  The Doe Fund reaches out and reacts in a pro active way to help those who need their help.

The Doe Fund's mission is to develop and implement cost-effective, holistic programs that meet the needs of a diverse population working to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism. All of The Doe Fund's programs and innovative business ventures ultimately strive to help homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals achieve permanent self-sufficiency.  As a Better Buiness Accredited charity, the Doe Fund is a great resource to help the homeless.

The prizes awarded for this fund-raiser will be as follows:

1st prize:

The Guardian’s watcher-This item is a table sconce with 3 sculpted Dragons guarding a flickering flame.  It has 3 properties of a temporary nature and a primary embued power.

Temp Power 1 Is a Mithyl that prevents one race and chosen profession by the person who activates the power at a specified building or room at the start of the weekend or at the first time during the weekend.

Temp Power 2 is a Gabriel’s door on the lodging the item is activated in at the start of the weekend or at the first time during the weekend.  The one who activates the power chooses the command word.

Temp Power 3 is a single sleeping sanctuary active on the person who activates the power.  Be sure to add this note on the player’s character card once activated.

Embued Power Expel from lair and imbues the person who activates the power at a specified building or room at the start of the weekend or at the first time during the weekend the ability to activate this power 1x per event/weekend.  This power has 12 charges and may be recharged.

Area notes or character card must be amended to show the power/s active for that month.  The temporary powers must be designated at the start of the event and last for one full weekend and cannot be moved from building to building once activated at the start of the weekend or at the first time during the weekend.

2nd Prize:

Liars box.-This item resembles a small wooden box of ordinary construct, though cannot be destroyed by normal means.  Only its true owner can open and close the box to utilize its single use primary power, the trapping of a secret.  When the owner of the box opens it, she may speak the happening of one event or action she has performed or been responsible for and lock it away when she closes the box.  No normal method, including but not limited to spell, torture, etc. short of the bearer willingly opening the box to extinguish its power will release the secret to be detected by normal means.  She can take this secret and hide it from all forever.  The box is thought to be indestructable.  This function is permanent.  The speaker of the secret is subject to one lesser insanity point at the time of trapping her secret and is permanent as long as the box hides the secret.

Just a reminder that due to plans made some time ago, I wont be attending the first May event this weekend.  So the Spring/Summer fund raiser tickets will be available on the May 29-31st KR event.

Thanks and I'll see everyone then.

Another successful fund raising opportunity has been answered by our membership.

I'd like to thank everybody for giving what they could to help Knight Realms support The Doe Fund this summer.  My thanks to Diane Sodner and Paul Yan for their generous donations for the silent auction.

We were able to raise $565.00 through our member raffle and two silent auction efforts.

As always, thanks so much for everyones support in a tough economy.

You guys are the best.
