Trade skill vs. License?

I read and understand that there is a 'trade' skill for a couple of build I can purchase that deals with the commodity cards.
My question(s) is this...I heard that there is such a thing as a trade license. Available for a few gold rather than build. Now if this is a real thing, do both the 'license' and skill go hand in hand? (Example, I buy the skill to be a baker and getin trouble because I didn't pay for the license)
Do I need to spend the build to become a baker to sell actual cookies? Or can I purchase this trade license and just go about my buisness, saving those couple build?
Ultimate goal is to make some coin and focus my build spending on advancing my character, instead of something I'll barely make use of.

A trade license can be purchased by the Seneschal for a gold. The license allows you to legally sell your wares in the Inn (like at Market Faire).
It's cool role play to have the trade skill on your card to go along with what you're selling, but that is flavor for your character. It is totally up to you wether or not you'd like to get the Trade skill, but you'd have to go to the Seneschal in order to sell your real cookies (and I'll be first on line to buy them! )

Second award: Wally as Thomas the Lizardkin. He took on a new facet of his Thomas persona when he became lizardkin. His movements, actions, and voice all were modified to still be Thomas, but a more impulsive, animalistic version. Sleep poisoning someone who was getting angrier and seeming more like a threat was a perfect example of how a lizardkin might react to a peer who was overstepping their dominance boundaries.
