Star Wars Exhibit at Ben Franklin Institute

Star Wars Exhibit at Ben Franklin Institute was created by Jacob Kanane (Jacob Kanane)
Starting this saturday and continuing until May 4th there will be a Star Wars exhibit at the Ben Franklin Institute in Philly. It's called "Star Wars: Where Science meets Imagination". I must admit I'm embarassingly excited about this. They have a full replica of the Millenium Falcon's cockpit that you can ride in.

They have a full replica of the Millenium Falcon's [Censored]pit that you can ride in.

Just noticed that this got censored, is that really necessary? I mean think of all the words that have the word 'cock' in it:
cockpit
John Handcock
cockroach
cocktail
cocky
poppycock
shuttlecock
coldcocked
cocksure
cockles
cockeyed
cockerspaniel
cockatrice

Anyways.. yeah I cannot wait to fly in the Falcon's cockpit.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:
Masks and weapons (including prop blasters or lightsabers) are not permitted inside the exhibit.

Seriously, this sounds really awesome.

I was about to say, WTF?

Curse you, Matt White!

The exhibit looks cool - I may have to make another trip down to Philly for it.  The King Tut Exhibit was well worth it.

It's kind of tempting to try and come up with definitions for them.

But, maybe not the most suitable idea for this particular forum....

I almost bought tickets for the grand opening this saturday. They're going to have 100 stormtroopers at the front entrance and Darth Vader in the lobby. Tickets were still available yesterday but the Millenium Falcon cockpit ride is 5$ extra, and tickets for that were sold out.

I think after we go and see the exhibit we should tour the bars of Philadelphia.  As a resident of Philadelphia, I'd be glad to be the tourguide!

I will happily assist Aaron as bar tour guide of Philadelphia.

I think we'll need to dedicate ourselves to a rigorous training regimen in advance of this occasion, so that we're in peak form.

Indeed. We'll go to Bally's and put those treadmills to good use. Nothing builds stamina like having to consume one bottle of beer before the next one reaches the end of the line.

Fade In:

The "Rocky" theme starts blaring and we see Mike Smith sitting on the floor at the end of a treadmill, dressed in a warm-up suit and a terrycloth headband, grabbing beers as they slide toward him and downing them one by one.

Cut to:

Mike Smith standing next to the boxing training equipment, drinking more beer as Brendan, Aaron, and I punch him in the stomach. Real boxers look on, horrified.

Cut to:

Mike Smith hanging upside down from a pull up bar, drinking a beer, dropping the bottle to the floor and the curling his torso upright to retrieve another beer from Aaron. Brendan daubs his forehead with a towel as I monitor his heart rate.

Cut to:

Mike Smith in a track suit with a parachute attached to his back, which is dragging along the ground limply because he's barely staggering along, drinking beers as they're handed to him. Brendan occasionally tries to get the parachute to billow by picking it up for a few steps, but it's not happening.

Cut to:

Mike Smith running into the Empire State Building with a beer in each hand.

Cut to:

Mike Smith emerging from an elevator onto the observation deck, discarding the empties as he pumps his fists into the air.

Cut to:

Panoramic of NYC from the observation deck, spinning around. The music swells to its peak. GONNA FLY NOW....

Fade Out

Some of the best threads I've read on this forum are the ones that go wildly off-course from the original topic.

Like when Alex noted that ALex was a woman in the middle of the 5-year old brawl discussion.

Plus I went off-topic myself when I started analyzing the cock censorship.

I'm not that suprised that a thread about Star Wars leads to censorship of the p-word and beer with Mike Smith.  Star Wars is all about beer and male genitalia.  Look at Space Balls and there's your proof.  ;D

As for the field trip, please, post a when and where as I would love to see the exhibit and destroy my liver/stomach with some of Philly's finest beers/cheesesteaks.
