OOG Gypsy Party Info

Hey guys!

This wouldn't be completely appropriate for the IG forum, so I'll post it here.

There's a lot that goes into organizing such a large event like this, and as far as food goes, I'd like to make sure that we get a good variety of foods available to everyone. I'm going to list what we'd like to see there, as far as food goes, and you can either post for it on here, like Charlie does for the event stuff, or send me a PM and I'll post it.

I'll be at the site on Friday early, around noonish, to help set up. If anyone can come early and help us set up, search for fire wood, decorate, let me know!

As always, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me.

FOOD:

Main Course: Hot Dogs ----> Katie and/or Josh and the Yhatzi clan ALSO mystery covered dishes by Dan (Ming Na) and Chris Ayala

Salad or Veggie Tray: Pasta Salad: Amber  Veggie Tray: TV's Mike Smith

Fruit Salad, or something sweet and healthy: Sonya

Cheese and Bread: Ben (Dr. Maxwell)

Pretzels (those wheat twists are great IG!) or wheat thins/crackers: Nick

Desserts: Sonya, Charlie

Drinks (Soda or stuff non fizzy): Pete (sodas) and Liam (soda and or non fizzy)

Misc Condiments: (In IG containers please!) Noah (?)

IG looking containers (Big, small, plates, bowls, etc! I'd rather not have to borrow from the kitchen   ): I believe I can take care of that, but if someone else would like to bring baskets, or something to cover up the food, please, let me know!

Just as a helpful hint for IG looking bowls and plates that you can get in larger quantities and aren't as expensive as say real metal or wooden ones, check out ones made of disposable bamboo (Bambu I think the company name is).  You can get them for a decent price and they work really well for larping and feeding a group you want to keep IG while avoiding paper plates.

Tom, thanks for the offer, but we're going old school with the hot dogs. Putting them on sticks and roasting them that way.

I also thought of something I did with condiments, since you made a note about IG containers, to take or leave as you please:

When I brought stuff to make sundaes for people awhile back, I made lil fabric pouches in a basic green material to stick the chocolate and caramel squeeze bottles in.  It worked really well, looked good, and was super easy.  I think I re-used them for other condiments later as well.

A big ol' BUMP for the things not claimed yet.

I'd like to point out that IG, the party is a closed party, and those without invites will be escorted away, back to town. I just wanted to say this because while it's ok to jokingly post on the thread, there are a few of you who are not invited in game posting on here.

All the invites have been sent out, so thank you for respecting our privacy!

With all the changes going on, keep an eye out for where the party will be held. We'll post on this thread as soon as we've decided, hopefully, before Friday.

As always, any questions can be forwarded to myself and I will do my best to answer them.

So, it looks as if the party will now be in Kalidonia, which is Area III. The party will begin after 2 pm and go, probably until 4-ish.

If you volunteered to bring food, please put it in the kitchen and label it with your name and gypsy party, so that I can find it when we set up. If you have any question about where to put it, or if I saw it, grab me either OOG Friday night before layon, or IG Saturday morning, as I will be in the Inn most of the morning.

I really appriciate all your help and enthusiasm with bringing food for this!

One more thing while I am packing stuff to go... If you are bringing food, please put it or at least bring an IG looking container to put it in. I have some, but not many, so the more people who can bring some of those containers, the better. Serving spoons, large and small, are also a great help.

Also, if you do bring them, please mark your name on the bottom of the container so that it can be returned to you!
