I hope that I am a pretty well-read and educated person.  I hope that I am smarter than a  5th grader and I have good memory retention.  However, when I first saw this, I thought.... "The guy who made blue jeans died?".

Anthropologist and maker of dungarees?

You do realize people can share names, yes?  :P

He is an oft-quoted and referenced figure within the academic fields of religion and anthropology (among others).  While often his theories are being critiqued as the fields have advanced over the last several decades, his work has been monumentally influential, whether agreed with or not.

He certainly lived a long and productive life, and will continue to be remembered.  Rest in peace sir.

Yeah... I know folks can share names.  But I will be honest and admit that the first thought in my head was "the guy who made blue jeans died".  ;D

Possibly the invention date of dungarees would have tipped you off to the name-sharing, after a few moments ;-) It's not particularly likely that someone who invented something in the late 1800's would still be alive to die today (what an awkward sentence that is...).

A rather pretty turn of phrase, if you ask me.  Although I would hve ended your sentence "still be alive to die yesterday."
