Book Giveaway was created by geezer (geezer)
Jake has set up house in Exton and has left several books to be given away. I also excavated my study and have several as well. Mal grabbed three after the last Event. Any wanting one or more, message me and I will bring them to the September Event. As I continue excavating, more will be added.
New titles added at the beginning, above the line.
Friday's book:
Webster's Unabridged Dictionary - 6 inches thick, lots of words, all well defined.
______________________________________________________________________________________
The Confessions of Jean Jacques Rousseau
Utopia by Thomas More (yeah, Henry VIII's Chancellor who was executed and made a saint). Good read, though the language is a bit stilted. Bright guy who died for his principles. One f many books on this theme I read for a UDEL winter term in 1971.
Tom Brown at Rugby, Tom Brown's School-Days by Thomas Hughes. The model for the Flashman series.
James Herrot's Dog Stories by James Herriot. BBC did a series. good read.
______________________________________________________________________________________
Silas Marner by George Eliot
The Trial by Franz Kafka
The Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck
The Gemini Contenders by Robert Ludlum
The Holcroft Covenant by Robert Ludlum
Ludlum wrote the Bourne series. Both are hardcover.
Summer Knight by Jim Butcher
Ants, Indians, and Little Dinosaurs. The American Museum of Natural History
Vessel of Wrath: The Life and Times of Carry Nation by Robert Lewis Taylor Well written - he won a Pulitzer for other bios.
The Bedford Handbook (of composition) 7th Ed
Preserve and Protect by Allen Drury From the Advise and Consent series of the 1960s. HC
Capitalism with Morality by D. W. Haslett

Aaron -0get yourself to my place. Bring Emily. I will make dinner while you select from the 400 or so books I have dealing with WWII. Some will be keepers, others loaners. Then we will go up to the ban, where I have a ton more that I have not yet read (part of a collection I acquired) but know which ones I am willing to give to a good home. If you like naval, boy do I have a trove for you.
