I was looking at the weather for the November event, and I know it's still early, but it's calling for rain/snow showers Friday night. My childish question follows: are snowball fights allowed?

This was a joint Dodge lesson for me, and Intercept lesson for Jason T. So yeah, I'd say snowball fights, at least when there's not actual combat going on, are more than encouraged.

Basic safety and courtesy rules apply, as well as RP / In-Game ramifications. No ice, no stones in your snowballs, and if you hit a Noble without their consent, you get what you deserve.

Snowballs are not allowed as spell packets. If someone tries it, you're free to call "no effect," and please inform a marshal.

Two other things from your neighborhood EMT...
Snow means frostbite potential and Hypothermia.... If allowed to speak on this at Lay On, I'll mention a few things to watch for. Lots of things that can be done if either occurs and I will be mentioning the easy steps to avoid such troubles then.
(A common misconception is Hypothermia can only happen when its below freezing which is NOT true... It can and has happened in 40 degree temps....)
Hopefully folks remember to bring gloves- I strongly recommend it.

As with anything, it comes down to consent. Its one thing if my OOG best friend hits me a snowball at game and out of the blue (since she's in Texas again, this shouldn't be a problem ). Its another thing if someone I've never had a real conversation with does so. Boundaries are no different at game then they are in real life in that sense, at least when it comes to mud, water, snow, etc. So is it allowed, sure. Should you still use common sense, especially with people you don't know and don't know how they feel about being involved, absolutely.
