Hi friends,
I'm Craig and I play Lucien Belfast. I just wanted to make this post in order to intercept any ill will that may or may not be perceived by the inflammatory nature of my character. Examples include posts on in game boards and most especially face to face situations in game. You are all my friends, or at the very least, politely considered strangers!
I draw a clear and immediate distinction between how I, Craig would interact with someone and how Lucien would. If you ever feel uncomfortable, intimidated, or burdened in any way, please let me know I am easy to reach by PM or facebook and I am very easy to talk to in person if you want to have an OOG aside during the game, it really will never bother me at all.
I created this character not just to entertain myself, but to entertain all of you. I hope it works!
See you all at Sac!

To avoid making this sound like a "puff piece" I will say I applaud everyone who I have had a real IG conflict with so far. Many of you I've known for years but even the people I am just meeting have been outstandingly polite and in good humor about everything.
I hope any newer players can take the example of folks like John H. and Tim P. and the rest to heart if they are considering adding a bit of conflict into their characters story.
If these guys murder me at the next event, I will fight them until we're all falling over, and when they nuke me into dust I will laugh and buy them pizza. That is a possibility for anyone playing at KR.

One of my favorite KR memories was someone taking the time to find me out of game and shake my hand after a seriously intense and volatile RP session.
This post is like that.
Thank you for posting this, it's super important and wholly appreciated.
And thank you to others following suit.

Jumping on what Jen said, one of my favorite KR moments was having a HUGE blow out on someone in game to the point where the NPCs stopped attacking to watch. Afterwards I spoke to the player to make sure he knew it was entirely IG, and he was so thrilled to finally have someone blow up on his character.

Thank you for the shout out Craig.
Conflict between characters is inevitable and can be fantastically fun RP, I've ultimately enjoyed the vast majority of conflict I've had with other characters as of late. Everybody gets very nervous about the PVP thing, but PVP doesn't have to necessarily result in two people screaming different skills at each other, RP and the stuff on the boards is very much a way PVP can occur.
The idea, as Craig mentioned in his first post is to have fun and to create fun for other players. Does that mean that there may be a day where things come to blows? Certainly, but with the focus and at times very intense, intelligent and well delivered RP that some people have brought to the table, is far more satisfying than "pwning sum newbs." And again the idea is to create fun.
I would like to also echo Craig's sentiment and many others on here, that sometimes RP or physical RP will make people uncomfortable, and it is important for players to take care of themselves and communicate with those around them.
I've rambled enough, thank you KR peeps for making stuff awesome and dealing with it all like champs, I've been having a blast with it all and I hope you all are too!

You're all super awesome, and I reckon you've hit the nail on the head John - there's PVP for the sake of PVP, and PVP for the sake of making stories and setting up interesting conflicts. It really seems like you're doing the latter in a big way, and it's brilliant to watch!
Now enough with all this - go write some more forum posts for us to read please
