Greetings fellow KRers,
A few days ago, Laura Amy Schlitz won the 2008 Newbery Medal for Good Masters! Sweet Ladies!: Voices from a Medieval Village. This illustrated book is a collection of 22 brief monologues intended to be performed by students to bring to life a prototypical English village in 1255.
Seems to me that this might be a different form of entertainment for the feast. With so many roles to choose from, we could put together a selection of, say, a half-dozen or so to be performed as the dinner show. I just know that there are some latent thespians out there who'd be up for such a gig. Here's a link:

Dinner Theater!
I definitely need to hit up B&N and see what this book is all about.

That looks delightful. If, after reading, they seem appropriate pieces for feast entertainment--I'm in!
If they aren't, I suspect it would be because they might be a good reference for the Monster Marshalls or at character creation, giving some idea of what would constitute a short but compelling backstory.
Either way, nifty find.

Thanks much for the interest!
I'll bring the book to the festival February 2nd, and anyone who's interested can check it out. With any luck, we can pick parts and then be ready to perform at the next baronial feast.
See you at Charlie's!
