Care Packages/Address was created by Michelle my belle <3 (marisolmichelle)
Hello everyone,
As most of you know John (munky) is stationed currently in Ft. Bliss texas with his army unit awaiting deployment overseas. Anyways, me and a couple of the other ladies from his FRG were talking and came up with the idea of care packages (i know cuz we're like so original hahaha)
Anyways, I won't be able to attend the first July event however I will be attending the second one so if theres anyone who wants to send him anything, including if it's just your best regards or offers of support, I can give you his address. If you would prefer to give it to me I am more then willing to send care packages or the things for them for you.

He really needs CD's and DVDs. If anyone has any bouncing souls CD i think he would love you forever. He likes comedy/action films. He loves any kind of music (excluding country), chocolate covered pretzels and most cartoons. (Excluding anime.)

Please don't send playing cards, he has like 5 packages of them already.
There are a few guys in his unit who don't get mail, so if you guys wouldn't mind maybe getting something for those guys, I'm sure they would appreciate it.

I would post his address here on the boards, but I'm not technically supposed to so anyone who wants it please PM me.
Thanks so much for your support,

P.S. Happy Independence Day
Michelle

A friend of mine is also in the military and some folks and I would prep care packages for her.  However, we were told that some of the items we wanted to send were "not allowed" due to the "inappropriate" material allowed for such packages.  No adult material/no extreme violence allowed.  So, most of the action movies we wanted to send were banned in the care package.  Because of that, I have an extra DVD of Conan the Destroyer in my house.  ;D

Is it the same for Munky?  Can we send him DVDs and CDs of cool stuff, or do we have to cencsor what we send him?

Booze must be repackaged.  Mouthwash and maple syrup containers work best.  The SI Swimsuit edition got through to Rob, so I guess they are not using Trollop's definition of porn and let the light stuff through :).  I have sent any DVD I wanted by using the simple expedient of affixing MY labels.  There's one hell of a lot of Disney in a friend's collection.

I'll bring a few things for Monkey next event and some for him to gie the rest of his group who do not receive packages.

Please support them folks.  The alternative sucks.

Thanks guys,
Um, I don't know why the wouldn't let him have action movies, as for things of the adult persuasion he's beat. I sent him r rated movies tho, if they send them back, oh well? I think it depends mostly on what the movies about, I don't think they'll let him have the box set for texas chainsaw massacre but he got my Katt Williams dvd no problem.
thanks again,
to be flat out honest with you kids, I wasn't really sure what to put in a care package, so I needed all the help I could get.

Chocolate tends to melt in care packages. Just a heads up.

comeing from experiance.

They only open packages if they have a reason too.....havent seen it happen often

soap.....dont send soap with food and if you do  put it on oneside the box in like 2 or three ziploc bags and all the other random junk in the middle and food on the other siad......some unknown reason soap parties with the food on the trip and gets his taste everywhere.

no porn, porn like materials.....though we all have it.....just dont get caught, no drug items or contraband such as that. no canned air......to many people huffing

if i can think of more Ill type it

You can send chocolate in care packages, it won't always melt, alot of it depends on travel time, but if in Iraq, and on a FOB with an airstrip, he'll be able to pick it up before it melts too badly.

Whatever you do, don't send mini-size shampoos or soap, I had almost 200 bottles of the stuff before I left the last time I was there, same goes for playing cards, bibles and holiday related cards.
