Subjects of Travance,
All are invited to the proper on Saturday the 30th of July for the purpose of celebrating our most recent victories through competitions and revelry!
Some of the activities that we have prepared for the day are:
Capture the Crown
“Two Warring Kingdoms” each have in their possession one half of “the crown of control”. Each has their half locked away in their throne room in the middle of their kingdom. The first Kingdom to hold both halves of the crown in their own throne room can put them together to “win total control over the lands”.
The townspeople will split into the two Kingdoms. The sides are identified with a color belt sash that must be worn and clearly visible at all times. Each kingdom starts on opposite sides of the proper and are given a representation for their throne room, its defenses and their half of the crown. They are then given a simultaneous signal to start. The first kingdom that holds both halves of the crown in their throne room wins.
This enchanted game was found in the reliquary. While we will not be using magic or physical force on our opponents, the enchanted game does summon some elementals that roam the area and must be dispatched through realistic means. Full rules will be explained just prior to the game starting.
Man Hunt
A few “Dangerous Convicts” are set loose from the dungeons of Travance. Five minutes afterwards, the town is let loose to find them and “bring them to justice”.
A simple but fun game, rules will be explained just prior to starting.
Clear out the Catacombs
For those of you who are more adventures and willing to risk personal injury for the possibility of material wealth, we will allow supervised and structured entry into a recently discovered series of catacombs. You will be allowed entry in groups not greater or less than eight and only periodically at times of our choosing. There will be sign up sheets in the morning in the dragons claw inn. We will not promise that everyone will have the opportunity to perform this activity but rather we will run one group through whenever there seems to be a lull in activity.
Hidden Treasures
Donated by townspeople of great wealth, treasures will be strategically hidden throughout the woods surrounding the proper.
Desert Contest
There is a desert contest run by Zafrin Yahtzi. Rules for this contest are posted on another sheet of paper on this bulletin board.
Food
We are encouraging you all to host your own personal parties by preparing and cooking/grilling your own foods to show off your groups cooking talents. Many of the normal cooks and Jonas Kane will be popping their heads into these parties to sample their foods and shower some of the parties with trinkets and treasures. The Kitchen will be providing some food on occasion, but nothing like the feasts provided on baronial feast days. The bar will be open for drinks, but they may be self serve, with Jonas Kane picking up the tab.
Open Market Faire
We are encouraging all of the tradesmen of Travance to set up and sell their wares for any and all times during the event. You may set up your wares, at the dragons claw inn or any other site of your choosing and a trade license is not needed for the day.
Fishing Contest
We have captured two fish and forced one to swallow a 100 gold gemstone and the other to swallow a permanent magical ring worth more. One is swimming in the pond the other is in the lake. As long as you bring your own fishing pole and tackle, you are welcome to take your shot at finding these treasures. ((oog – show the director your caught fish and separate the ones caught from the pond, from the ones caught in the lake. The director will roll percentile in front of you for each fish caught on separate pond or lake charts. You have at least a 5% roll chance for each individual fish. If both items are officially found, everyone left fishing will be informed.)

Rules
Game Rules:
No mystical abilities can be used while playing the game – be it magic, druidic, divine, or psionic (this includes using them to protect ones crown). Items also cannot be invoked. Of course you can use any physical abilities at your disposal. If two hours pass and the crown is not reunited, the team with the most sashes of the opposing color will be declared the winner.
Two Bases and the Crown:
Totem Pole and the Field near Kaladonia – the half of the crown must be placed in plain view at each of these sites. The goal of the game is to reunite the two halves of the crown within one's own throne room. If someone has stolen the crown half, and their sash is stolen, the player carrying the crown must drop it where they are. A player cannot move their own team's crown-half unless it for the express purpose of carrying it directly back to their own throne room.
Being "Killed":
Having ones sash stolen counts one as temporarily out of the game and means you have been "killed" – you cannot hold onto your own sash or secure it some way, but you can attempt to evade having your sash stolen by dodging. A player whose sash has been stolen must return to their base camp, where her referee will "resurrect" her by giving her a new sash. You cannot take yourself out of the game by taking your own sash off. A player who has stolen an opposing team member's sash should return it to their own throne room's referee at the soonest available opportunity.
Forming Teams:
Appoint two highest ranking nobles or officials of the barony as team captains to pick teams. One team is purple, the other is blue – they must loop the colored fabric through a belt or secure it to themselves in such a way that it can be easily stolen from them.
Referees:
One referee will be at each base – each will have a supply of extra sashes of their respective colors. The magic of the game allows the referees to communicate with one another to coordinate the start of the game. Referees are not technically part of the game and cannot be attacked by elementals or have their sashes stolen, and they have the ability to put a stop to any activity that is against the spirit of the game.
Resurrecting:
Each team has a set and equal number of sashes in the possession of the referee. Once the referee runs out of sashes that team has used up its resources and can no longer resurrect its team members.
Elementals:
Can be conjured by the magic of the game and must be dealt with if encountered. They will only attack players with sashes.
