Becoming a member of Ostcliff
There are stages to go through and all members should know the basics of this process. I will go over the basics here and put the entire process in order as well. The first stage is when a person makes it known to a member of the guild that they wish to join us. This person should be told to the Dominus or one of the four stewards. After that they are voted on by the guild members present at the guild meeting. If the vote passes they become a pledge and have three months to prove themselves to guild become the final vote is cast and they are accepted as full members.
I. Potential pledge if brought the attention of one of the guild leaders for a quick interview.
II. At the next guild meeting the people wanting to join will explain there intentions to the guild
III. A full member vote will be cast with either, Yes, No, or Abstain.
a. If the overwhelming vote is no then that person is told they have not been accepted yet and that they can continue to ask for membership and get to know the guild. If three times a vote has been asked for and cast with an overwhelming no then the person can not gain membership. If every vote is no, the person is then unable to get membership at all.
b. If the overwhelming vote is abstain then that person is still in major consideration and will be included in some minor guild matters for continued examination of that person’s purpose and to get to know them.
c. If the overwhelming vote is yes then they enter the guild as pledge.
d. If the person gets at least 5 votes yes then they enter into pledge status, which can only be undone if within the same vote 10 are cast as no. In this situation the vote moves to an outcome of an abstained vote. These numbers scale with the number of votes.
IV. Once a person is a Pledge they are included in guild meetings and asked but are not obligated to participate in the guild dues. Any topics of Sevenlore deemed sensitive will be spoken about without the pledge members there.
V. After three moons time a final review and vote will be cast by honored and proven members. If the Stewards or Imperials wish to vote on the person they may as well. The normal Standard is for three votes of yes from honored and three votes of yes from proven. Those names will be written down with the member they choose to accept and stored away. No unreasonable action will be taken against those who accept new members but ultimately everyone is responsible for there actions. The Pledge is now moved into full membership status.
