I shall ask a few questions for everyone's benefit:
What would be the rules for this game? What type of poker? What would be the buy in?

Rules are determined by the dealer before the hand is dealt. Deal is rotated every hand. Generally it is some variation of poker, but sometimes blackjack is played depending on the mood of the dealer and/or the players.
Buy in is whatever you wish, but usually 10 gold is enough for a nice long session. Generally it is silver ante. Players will be expected to sit in and play for at least a few drinks worth of play

I'm a novice at poker. My grandfather was a professional gambler in Coast Haven, so I know the basics of the game, but only the version they played in his day, which was 5 card stud. I understand this is no longer the fashion. Would someone be willing to teach me how to play the other types of poker?

I look forward to sitting at the table with you!
Last game we were interrupted by the assault on the inn, but amazingly all the chip piles remained intact! The cards got a bath from some-one's spilled drink, but the 5 or 6 piles of chips somehow survived undisturbed! It was as if some poker-god was watching over us!
