When Your Inkwell is a Bleeding Heart was created by Nalick (NalickDeMarche)
Her value is inherent, but her heart impure.
Yet some men believe distrust is the cure;
A silent gnashing of teeth or a sideways glance
From men clinging fiercely to that rough stance.
But where is the challenge in that solution,
Where swinging a sword is your only contribution?
Stay your blade a moment, open your mind,
And perhaps glean something you haven't divined.
If relapse is feared, 'twill more likely be caused
By beating her over the head with her flaws
Than reaching out with two open hands
And giving love and mercy a fighting chance.
She lost her head, her dignity, and we shouldn't follow.
Nay, with bloodlust in our eyes with hearts that are hollow,
The only result will be more blood shed,
Added to the pool my heart's already bled.

Mr. Underhill,
It's clear from your lyrical and playful words that you appreciate the finer arts in life. In my studies and searches for rare volumes I have come across many shining pearls of verse collecting dust on moldering shelves, in dusty trunks, or tucked away into forgotten closets.
One such volume includes the fantastical tale of two rather curious creatures- a frog and a scorpion. It's a tale that I believe you would be wise to both read as well as heed. Should the fancy strike you, I would be happy to lend you the volume from my collection for a short time. I would also be willing to part with it permanently for some good coin.
As always, you may find me at my shop should you wish to stop in and browse.

This is the most sensible thing I've read in awhile. Thank you Nalick. Andorra bless.

Ilana,
Many thanks, but I suppose I should explain myself. When I would pray in the Monastery, above me on the mantle sat a statue symbolizing Andorra. It was of an angel whose broad wings wrapped around a young girl, protecting her, acting as a shield for the defenseless and every day, I aim to emulate that. Even after all this time, I remain astonished at the amount of people so quick to unsheath their contempt in the face of conflict. Yet they are my friends and rather than shun them or hide away, I welcome debate.
