Hello everyone!
The days officially begin to grow shorter and the air cools as Autumn has graced us with its presence. Try to keep lanterns out or near at hand as non-magical fire and light are deterrents to many threats that like to harass us this time of year. A smith can help you obtain a lantern. Veterans of Travance, take the time to meet someone new and get to know them either to be their shield or equip them to prepare for the feasts to come. We should all try and be lights in the community, shining as a guide to those who want to listen.
October marks the holiday of Galladell's Watch (Halajh’awen). While the holiday is usually recognized later this moon, keep an eye out for small treats this feast. Take a moment to remember loved ones lost with a good drink and story as it is important to celebrate their lives.
As always, The United Churches of Light will be offering several congregations this feast.
All who are willing to be respectful to the Gods of Light and the others in attendance are welcome to attend. All light clergy are welcome to speak at mass and, if time permits, others will be allowed to speak as well so long as they remain on topic and respectful.
Friday
Midnight Gaian Mass - Location: Kaladonia Altar
Officiant: Gothi Caldor
Saturday
3:00 PM Bar Mass - Location: Bar in the Dragon's Claw
Officiant: Chaplain Aldric
This Mass is for those unfamiliar with faith. Talk and learn about the United Churches of Light with some light refreshments and a drink.
5:00 PM Mass of Light - Location: Church Annex
Officiant(s): Friar Ilana, Various Clergy
Topic: Galladel's Watch and Living A 'Good' Life
Be well!
Doctor Ilana Darkwood Uidhir-Zero
Squire of Pendarvin
Head of the Wild Mages Guild
Steward to the United Churches of Light

The topic of Midnight mass shall be faith beyond prayer or ceremony.
We shall also discuss celebrating the life of the fallen.

Excuse me, but what exactly blunts arcane light against the threats of the night, as opposed to Divine, Alchemical, or Oil lights?
Or is this simply a reference to the Northmen's respectable discomfort around magical phenomena?

Scaremortals are made of straw and created by magic (this is a very simplified explanation.) Hence resistant to magical flame but natural flame is an issue.
In regards to the small shadow creatures that create puppets out of their victims, any light source is applicable. However, make sure your light sources can truly glow or they will not be effective.

Mme. Squire Darkwood,
I am... familiar with the concept of Scaremortals. I remember how my heart sank when the good Lord General Magnus Zero Darkheart Von Ritter described their origin to me.
Should they return to our home... I will make it my personal duty to release them of their bindings.
Thank you for absolving my ignorance.

Cleric: "Do you have the dagger?"
Thief: "No."
Cleric: "Let me rephrase that. Do you have the dagger?"
Thief: "Yes..."
