Calculating damage is as simple as it can be in this system: you go to the skill description, see what number it says (5, 10, 15, 20, 25) and multiply it by your multiplier.
The shorthand descriptions of skills are not and have never been a replacement for reading the actual skill description, as they do not describe the full effect of the skill or how it is used. They exist as a quick reference sheet. However, if they continue to cause confusion I will reevaluate if their presence in the book is more helpful or harmful.
