At first, the quiet was almost a welcome respite from the normal troubles the Witchwood provided, but it soon grew to be unnerving. Many became paranoid that nothing was coming. Not that it was quiet and the monsters were gone, but that *nothing* was happening. Slowly heroes started to notice that some of the common folk stopped doing anything altogether. They would just sit and rest as they stared into space. The more that it was noticed, the more clear it became that they were very quietly whispering. Almost overnight, everything returned to normal, no one seeming to have a memory of the strange event. What was soon discovered afterward by Ser Tristram and the guard were some strange papers and rumor of a ritual circle. Any who ventured to where it was sighted noted that the whole circle was removed with no traces.

Since then, the sightings of Kormyre Kingdom remnant camps and even signs of soldier movement have increased, but there hasn't been an attack. Lord Chancellor Enzarond assures that he and the Magister are looking into solutions to help the heroes of Grimwyr deal with this threat soon enough.

Equally, a seemingly innocuous note appeared around town, bearing the enlarged letters "ESSTIR". The citizens have been forewarned to ignore it. One citizen was found publicly supporting this resistance. Ser Tristram dealt with them swiftly, but privately.
