Or any other wargame, card game or board game with a group of new and veteran gamers?

The staff at Knight Realms want to give their members, their friends and family a place to gather in a spacious and well lit area to play their favorite games throughout the year.  You can cheer on your friends or check out a game you might be interested in.  Our intent is to have war-game terrain and dice on hand as well as tons of table space for your favorite miniatures, board or card game.
 
Staff members will also be on hand to discuss what non-members could experience as a character in the Barony of Travance.  We can discuss the role-play, character creation and how a new player could carve his niche in the world of Knight Realms.  Be a part of our fantasy.


Details:

Club cost:  No Membership at this time.

Food: On occasion.

Thursdays:  1 per mo. to start.  11/17 first session.  6pm-11pm.

Details:  At main bldg and bar area.  Any war-games, miniature games, card games or even board games.  No gambling or smoking inside buildings.

The Knight Realms Gaming Club’s next gathering will be on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 6pm.

We will be hosting several traditional Warhammer 40K games, but in addition, we will have a special ”Kill Team” boards.  These will be fast paced, quick and exciting games of 40K.

Kill Team requires each player to build his own 5 man squad to compete against other players in the game.

Kill Team allows a new player to experience 40K at an inexpensive cost.

Dates for March and April!

March Club: 3/15 6pm.

April Club: 4/19 6pm - Before Event

For March, We will have an 8 player 750pt 3 rd tournament.

Standard Lord with no extra war gear, 2 troop and an eliete (or fast attack) permitted only.

The club statrts at 6pm, the 1st round will start at 7:00pm and last 1 hr., 2nd at around 8 and 3rd at around 9pm.

It will go from 8 players to 4 to 2. Players and staff will be scored on sportsmanship, army appearance, etc.

Prizes will be awarded to the winner.

For the Tournament we are trying to keep things simple for now.

1 HQ - No Special Characters or Major Upgrades (Example of the Bad: Wolf Lord Term Armor, Frost Axe, Storm Shield) sorry that is just walking death on the field.
Example of the Good: (Wolf Lord with a Power Weapon).

If you want to play your wolves Terry a standard Runepriest is allowed, not a Master of Runes..sorry Jaws of the World Wolf and Living Lightning in the same turn is too much.

So I would say build a list for Eldar with a Phoenix Lord and the Troops and Elite choices and a basic Wolves list.

For the 750 Lists you can use (follow the Force Org chart for your respective codex):

1 Standard HQ with minor upgrade Ex: Power Weapon or Equivalent, Plasma Pistol or Equivalent etc.

2 Troop (or more ) choices...spec these out however you want.

Up to 2 Elite Choices - Again you can use upgrades, but nothing MAJOR.

1 Fast Attack Choice - same here, spec these with minor upgrades only.

Imagine a skirmish style game where two scout style armies meet up....they do not have their big guns that is why no Heavy for now.

If this goes well Thursday night KEEP YOUR LIST. We may turn this into an escalation league and do 1000 points in April.

Again the idea of these Tournaments and Games is to get new players started in the hobby. I will have 750 Space Wolves and 750 Chaos Daemons for anyone who wants to play them.

There will be prizes for the winners !!

For April 19th, we will offer a painting clinic that will teach you basic techniques and painting styles.

Be sure to bring your brushes, paints, primed army, vehicle or single miniatures and learn the tricks of the trade form experienced and award-winning painters.

If you dont have any paints or supplies, James has offered his master paint set to the gaming club for the night for youto use and enjoy. But remember, these supplies are limited.


We will check out your work and award prizes to the best paint jobs of the night!



In addition, we will have two veteran players playing an instructional game of 40k for new players or those curious about the hobby. Feel free to ask questions and discuss tactics during actual game play.

There will be no gathering of the Knight Realms Gaming Club in May since we have both a regular event and the week in the life event.

The June gathering of the Knight Realms Gaming Club will be on Thursday, 6/14.

The July gathering of the Club will be on Thursday, 7/26 prior to the July event.

Due to the renting of the camp for the next two weeks, I am sorry to say the June meeting of the Knight Realms gaming club is cancelled.

We plan on meeting @ 6pm on Thursday, 7/26 after day camp. Be sure NOT to show up early to the camp on this date.

The KR gaming club will meet @ 6pm, this Thursday, 7/26 after the day camp.

A featured game of the new 6th edition of Warhammer 40k will be played by two veteran players. Stop by and let us check out the new rules together! Don't want to watch someone else have fun? No problem, we will have lots of space for you to claim a table, grab some of our terrain and run your own game! Bring your army and engage your opponent in a 500-1000 pt game.

Back by popular demand, a miniature painting seminar. Learn basic and advanced techniques of miniature painting from experienced painters.

The KR gaming club or "Game Knight" is this Thursday, 8/23 @ 6pm.

Bring your army for a pick up game of 40k. Bring your favorite board, card or miniature game to play in our spacious and well lit facility.

Hot dogs, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase!

Terry will be painting tonight, so if you have questions on technique, stop by and ask him.

I plan on starting a somewhat unconventional game of 3.5 D&D at this game night, and it will likely continue for at least the next 2 or 3.

The game will be run for 3-6 players.
I will not run for less than 3, and if more than 6 are interested, I'm simply going to choose who plays based partly on what kind of character you have and partly by priority of how much I like you. I won't turn anyone away if there are open slots, but if a slot is contested, I will choose first by what the party will need more, and second by straight-up favorites. Luckily, due to the format of this game, if you cannot make it every time, it is an easy game to have characters enter and leave more or less on a whim. This also means someone who was unable to get in on tomorrow's game may find an open spot in the future.

How is it unconventional?
-It's significantly more player-driven than many 'standard' campaigns. There is little in the way of overall plot, as this story focuses less on missions given by NPCs and more on the PCs abilities to fend for themselves.
-Rules that I usually consider nitpicky and don't bother with (Ammo count, rations, encumbrance, etc.) will be of utmost importance, and thus careful track must be kept of such things.
-It is a low-powered game, and will likely not run long enough to become a high-powered one, although we'll see how that goes, since it could conceivably turn into a full-scale campaign if enough interest or regular players are generated over time.
-Gold will be worth next to nothing unless the game becomes a full-on campaign.

How do I get in on this?
Simply bring a level 1 character suitable for the Eberron setting to game night. You can use any race, class, or mundane items from any splat book you can bring with you for reference, though I reserve the right to veto anything brokenly unforeseen. There are no restrictions on alignment.
Generate ability scores by rolling 4d6, re-rolling 1's, and dropping the lowest number.
As far as items go, you can give yourself 1 masterwork piece of gear (weapon or armor) and may start with any mundane items you could feasibly carry. For gold, pick any two-digit number (or roll d%), and that's the amount of gold you have, but trust me when I say gold won't be very important or useful.

Also, if someone could bring a battle mat, I'd appreciate it, as I don't own one. I usually don't bother with them, but I have a feeling it could make parts of this game easier to run.

EDIT: I have an old school veteran of both KR and my campaigns in Hackettstown who has no ride to game night. If anyone can get him on their way, I will gladly negotiate compensation. I'd get him myself, but by the time I went from work to there to the camp, it would already be at least 8:30, and I'd have little time to prepare, much less run, the game.

Because I've already convinced myself that the lack of attendance to D&D was due to short notice, I'll be once more attempting to start the aforementioned game.

The September Gaming Knight will be another good one.

Lets start by promoting a fantastic D&D 3.5 game run by Vince! This is something different to the the club and it will give members a chance to meet up and play in a familiar and unique setting each and every club date. Space is limited so get there early to get set up!

We will have a couple of tables set for 6th edition Warhammer 40K for our regulars or any new Generals of the 41st Millennium who wish to join the battle or learn the game. I will have a Space Marine army available for a few new players to try out if the mood strikes.

There are several tables to set up for more wargaming or any card/board games of your choice. Come and enjoy the friendly and fun atmosphere of Game Knight at KR!

Also, Terry will be here again to give you tips on converting or painting your models.

Come and spend your Thursday night gaming with us. The real world will be there when you get back!

Thursday, January 24th at 6pm is the next date for the Knight Realms Gaming Club's Game Knight!!


There will be total open gaming and a 40K tournament. There are several tables available for your own games you choose to play.



We will offer a multi player, 1500 pt team oriented challange of the Imperium and their allies vs. the forces of Chaos and their allies.

My thoughts are each player can enter a single unit and be a part of the collective army on either side. Will you be the HQ or the Fast attck choice?

Or you can set up your own game. Bring your favorite army and terrain.
