KR Allegiance System! (Ver 2)
In Knight Realms you are given the chance to pledge your characters allegiance to either a land or household. Lands are noble territories ruled by lords or ladies and households are large families or influential political factions who swear allegiance to a land.
Swapping Allegiances
Changing your characters allegiance from one land or household to another is seen both in and out of game as a regular and acceptable practice. If you are not having a good of a time in one land as you feel you would in another you should not hesitate to change your allegiance and try out something different. This encourages the leaders to treat their vassals with respect and be mindful of their complacency or lack there of. Nobles however cannot change allegiances away from the lands that they are connected to, without first renouncing their status or by being shifted in assignment by the Count.
Lands
Lands are comprised of the provinces of Travance only and receive two benefits. First is an “Allegiance Award”, its strength determined by the number of attendees for a given month who have sworn allegiance to the land. The second benefit is a “Land Card” benefit. Each month the lord/lady of a land is given a certain number of these cards also based on the number of attendees for a given month for that land. These cards hold boons that represent the lands ability to provide for its people. The lord/lady may given them out as they deem fit. A land may only statistically benefit from the allegiance of two household and the alliance of two other lands per event.
Households
Households are groups or families that represent either a political power or force of power in Travance. A household must have a minimum of five players present and maximum of ten. Past examples of households would be Winterdark, The Darkhearts, The Yatzi’s, The Tellinghasts and The Arcanions.
Allegiances / Alliances
A household must swear allegiance to a single land, allowing the land to add the households total numbers to its own. In return for this pledge of loyalty the household may use the final allegiance award rank of that land. A land may not under any circumstances hold the allegiance of more than two households at a time. This is represented on the allegiance sheet by taking the numbers on the households list and writing them again on the lands, with an asterisk before each number (ex. *544). If a household does not allegiance itself to a land, its members may gain the effects of a rank I allegiance award, but only if the household has exactly ten members in attendance and signed up.
A land may form an alliance with up to a maximum of two other lands. For each such alliance both lands involved gain +10 to their total numbers. This is represented on the allegiance sheet by taking the first ten character numbers on the other lands list and writing them on yours with an asterisk before each number (ex. *545)
Allegiance Award
Allegiance Awards are based on the total number of attendees at a particular event. These benefits are periodic based and can be bestowed upon their people at any time after the game is started. For a land, only a noble of that land is authorized to sign off on a players Allegiance Award. For a household, only the designated current head of that household may sign off the Allegiance Award. The person signing off the Allegiance Award MUST be responsible for checking the charts in logistics ahead of time to confirm that they are assigning the correct award. Someone who signs off on the award who should not, or who does so incorrectly will receive a rules violation or worse. ALWAYS check the allegiance sheet in logistics before beginning the process of giving out the allegiance award to your people.
Ranking Chart for Allegiance Awards
Rank 1 / 10 – 25 / + 5 Healable Body, OR + 5 Refreshable Career Pts, OR 5 Build worth additional uses of skills already known off of Lower Lists
Rank 2 / 26 – 50 / + 10 Healable Body, OR + 10 Refreshable Career Pts, OR 10 Build worth additional uses of skills already known off of Lower Lists
Rank 3 / 51 – 75 / + 15 Healable Body, OR + 15 Refreshable Career Pts, OR 15 Build worth additional uses of skills already known off of Lower Lists
Rank 4 / 76+ / + 20 Healable Body, OR + 20 Refreshable Career Pts, OR 20 Build worth additional uses of skills already known off of Lower Lists
((If 150 individual characters are signed up on the system add Dodge x1 to all lands and households
If 200 individual characters are signed up on the system add Resist x1 to all lands and households
- An individual character is considered a character number with no asterisk next to it. ))
Land Cards
Land cards are dated cards that give a benefit to the person it is handed to. Lords or rulers of a land are given the cards in the beginning of an event, and they may choose who, when and how to distribute the cards. They receive 5 random cards for each rank they are declared at after lay-on. A single character may only benefit from one land card per weekend. These cards if not used do NOT carry over to future events.
“Well Fed” (Recipient gains +15 BP healable, all event)
“Well Armed” (Instant arms or armor repair card, 1 shot instantly replace any broken weapon, shield, or repair all AP, can be used during combat)
“Well Rested” (Recipient gains +5 Career Points refreshable, all event)
“Well Connected” (Train in any lower list skill by turning this card in to a marshal)
“Well Stocked” (This card replaces all commodity cards for one person for one event)
Determining Current Rank
At the beginning of each event, when signing in there will be an Allegiance sign-up sheet attached to a clipboard in Logistics. On the sign-up sheet will be a list of current Allegiances, and any single character number may be written upon the list under the correct heading. Any lords/leaders intending to use their allegiance awards for the weekend must reference this list before being able to determine what rank they are at for that weekend. If you have multiple characters they may all sign up under different headings since they all have different character numbers. It is the responsibility of each player to sign their characters up on the list so that the land/household is given credit for their attendance. Because some players may sign in Saturday, it is possible that a land or households rank will change between Friday and Saturday. Character Numbers with asterisks in front of them represent the boost given to a land from their Alliance with other lands and from Households that have declared their Allegiance to the land.
Examples of how to properly write the Allegiance Award
1) Allegiance Award - Disarm x2 (4), Parry x1(6) – C#232 (Sir Crestingstar)
2) Allegiance Award - +15 MP – C#212 (Master Silverbow)
3) Allegiance Award - +20 BP / Dodge x1 – C#156 (Lady Blackthorn)

I also want to post a clarification about individuals with "Baronial" affiliations, such as guardsmen, offices of the Barony, the Baron and Baronial Knights etc... any of these individuals may at any time pledge thier allegiance to a land. This represents that the individual baronial official is officially lending thier aid, support and backing to that land. This does not contradict with the individuals duties, nor do they need the approval or direction of the Count or Baron to do so.

This has been updated on the website:
www.knightrealms.com/advanced-rules/380-allegiancesystem.html
Some minor changes / clarifications of note:
1) There will be an "Allies" and "Household" slot to fill in, rather than copying a character's number into two slots.
2) The use of additional build world of skills is for Periodic skills, not Continuous.
3) The bonus Resist for 200+ players signing up for the system is a Natural Resist, and may be stacked with the Valence spell.
