WWP's legislative program strives to support injured service members by advocating for positive changes in benefits and veterans policy. If you are in need of assistance with VA benefits, Wounded Warrior Project can help. WWP is a VA accredited organization and has very experienced staff to help veterans with their VA claims.
The Wounded Warrior Project's Policy program creates and pursues legislative and policy changes that will benefit severely wounded service members and disabled veterans of the current military conflicts. With advice and input from the wounded service members and families we serve, we develop policy and legislative proposals covering the range of problems they face.
WWP's Policy program works to:
· Ensure that quality healthcare for the full range of injuries is accessible throughout the transition from active duty service member to veteran status and for the duration of the warrior's life.
· Ensure that wounded warrior's have unfettered access to the range of benefits and compensation programs for which they are eligible.
· Ease the financial and emotional stresses of families faced with loved ones who have incurred life-altering disabilities.
· Identify and create new programs to meet the needs of this new generation of veterans.
Our greatest accomplishment to date was the recent enactment of a law creating Traumatic Injury Protection for all active duty service members. This new law creates insurance that will pay severely wounded servicemen and women up to $100,000 upon their admission to a stateside military hospital. The Project was instrumental in the creation and drafting of the proposed legislation. Our lobbying efforts successfully resulted in the legislation being introduced and passed by Congress, and then signed into law.
WWP's Legislative Agenda for 2009 is wide ranging but deals with issues associated with the Transition Process for severely wounded military personnel, the provision of high quality health care and rehabilitation for warriors who incur Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), the provision of high quality health care, rehabilitation and prosthetic devices to warriors who incur amputations, and issues related to the continued refinement of the Traumatic Service Member Group Life Insurance (TSGLI) program.

The raffle prizes for this fundraiser are listed below:
1st prize: Oreth’s Clock
This ancient artifact item is an ornate box covered in the skin of a Draconic beast. The nature of the creature is a mystery. It contains a gnomish timepiece to track the casting time of rituals and a golden figurine of a lion sits atop a small opening compartment. A powerful Sorcerer named Oreth the Lion was said to have created this item during the first age to aid him in his trade. Oreth was a crazed sorcerer who followed neither the ways of good or evil. He was a power hungry madman who coveted rare lore and was a hunter of exotic or magical creatures. He was killed while using the box. It is not known what ritual he was casting at the time.
Property 1: This item halves the time of ritual casting and the user gains +5% to his chance of casting success to one sorcery sphere of his choice chosen when he takes possession of the artifact. This is a permanent power.
Property 2: Once an event, the box eliminates the need for components for any ritual (Color must match sphere chosen for property 1), thereby relieving the sorcerer from gathering the components. This is a permanent power.
Property 3: Three charges remain in a greater circle of protection ritual. The ritual is ancient and is from a long forgotten lost lore. It is for this reason that after the remaining charges are consumed, they cannot be recharged. The ritual evokes a 15’ impenetrable bubble of power that will only allow air through the barrier. No offensive attacks by physical, magical, psionic, natural or divine nature can penetrate the sphere to harm the inhabitant once it has been activated. Once evoked, the device cannot be moved and will only last for 3 hours/charge. This ritual can only be used once/event, up to 3 times ever and cannot be used for more than 3 hours/per event.
2nd Prize: Cloak of Invisibility
This magical garment functions as a standard cloak until the hood is pulled over the bearer’s head. Doing this will render the bearer invisible as the Illusionist spell, but can be worn as such up to 1 hr. This is two times the power of the spell and requires no concentration to maintain. Once the bearer makes an offensive action, the invisibility is deactivated for that use. This item has 3 uses /per weekend and is a permanent power.
3rd Prize: Private Feast
Back by popular demand! A gourmet meal for Friday night to feed and entertain from 6-8 people. The winner will work with our chef's to create a nice feast designed to fit their tastes or dietary requirements.
4th Prize: Do you like MMO’s like Warcraft? Then you should like what we are putting together as another prize to say thanks for all your support. This prize will be open to anyone who has purchased a raffle ticket, but was not a winner of the previous 1st, 2nd or 3rd prizes.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Tickets will be on sale for $5.00 each (starting at the September event) and 100% of the profits will go to our charity supporting WWP. Any and all straight donations will also be accepted, regardless of amount.
Tickets will be on sale during check-in on Friday near logistics for a few hours and sometime on Saturday, most likely during market faire (when possible). Details will be announced at each event up until the December event’s drawing during the Baron’s feast. If necessary, the drawing may be pushed back to the next available month Knight Realms holds an event.
**In addition, I will have items up for silent auction. A well constructed hooded cloak or robe made to the exact specifications of the winner of the auction. In addition, Some well built pieces of leather armor. Now is your chance to get your hands on a great and unique LARP weapon and stylish and functional accent piece to your costume. You can make a qualifying offer and the winner will be announced in December..**
We have a third item up for auction. It is a very well made, dark blue fleece hooded robe. Stop by the fund-raiser table to try it on.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
We will gladly accept quality donations for this or future fund-raising events. We plan on running 3 large fund-raisers per year with additional charity drop offs like toy drive for under privileged children and a blanket drive for abandoned animals that are running now! Details will be posted throughout the year with instructions on when and how you can help.
Thank you in advance for your help!

I will have raffle tickets for sale at the Ball only for November. I will not be at the full event the following week.
Also, please remember to check out the silent auction armor and costumeing. The bidding is relatively low right now for these quality items.
