December 2011 Highlights was created by GJSchaller (GJSchaller)
Highlights:

A lot of good things happened this event.  They all pale in comparison to the big one, though:  Gideon took a death, and a particularly nasty one.

Even at level 72, with four lower lists, two Higher Lists, four Legendary Artifacts, and a slew of other items... he died.  It wasn't unfair, it wasn't unavoidable, but it was something that was a known possible outcome going into the situation.  Gideon and Arden (along with Geoff and Norm) knew going into what was a standard Sorcery ritual that this might happen.  We had a 15% chance of failing, and a 5% chance of insta-death on top of that... a 0.75% chance of this result.  And we rolled it.

The RP that came out of this was fantastic.  The doubt that filled Arden, the resolve of Gideon to get back up (figuratively) and keep going, the realization that even though I'd never cast a ritual yet on my own in my career, I'd hit one of the worst outcomes possible, the notion that even the established legends of the town could go down at Luck's whim - it was potent.  When later that evening, Gideon was offered a chance to sacrifice his life to save others, he balked... solely because he'd died not two hours before.  That will have repercussions for months, if not years, to come.

Beyond this - the event was filled with awesome.  Feast was amazing (Thank you, Luis!), the opportunities to teach were excellent, as always, and Friday Night as Carlos was a blast.  (Topper for Carlos - someone else reading for him, and him getting a taste of his own medicine.)

Wally, you're a magnificent bastard.  I hope to see you play Boss NPCs again and again... from a safe distance. ;)

Edit: Bah, was thinking of 2012...

Jumping the gun on the year there Geoff, it's still 2011  :P

I also had a wonderful event, with some amazing roleplay that also came out of bad situations.

-I always talk about how much I love teaching, but this month it was all about learning. I loved the lessons I got from Gideon and Ardin, even moreso because it was the first time either of them had taught me anything, and look forward to more to come in the future.

-Being able to use my (albeit limited) knowledge of Gaaldron to fill people in on what to expect from the Imperious Legion, even though they were a splinter group. Was interesting being someone that people came to for information.

-Interesting conversations with Father Morgan and Barak about a very specific topic that could take Winks in a much different direction than I ever thought was possible.

-Wally and Liam, you guys are jerks, and I love you both for it. The barrage of Command Goblinoid was utterly ridiculous, and it's something Winks has always feared could happen. The RP that came after the battle because of it, especially with the McKraegars that I spoke to, was absolutely wonderful. And of course it opened up the floodgates of people asking Winks, "so you don't have Willpower yet, why?" Honestly I started asking myself that, so don't worry, it's just a matter of time now.

See everyone at the Banquet!

This weekend was pretty interesting for me, as I feel like fate has been showing its hand.  And considering one of Chronicler's domains is fate....

I got to have some wonderfully silly moments, as well as some pretty heavy RP (which, sadly, was almost all internal or with one/two other people at most)

Highlights:
Silliest to most serious:
-Dealing with Santa's Elves, watching Quan Liu getting coal, and then getting Ironwood

-Watching Oryx learn requiem of bound fate.  Every part of that was fantastic, especially the waylay and the enslavement.

-Competing with Paige for selling flowers (her purple roses and my pins) until we realized we weren't actually in competition and started supporting each other

-Selling my pins and having it affirmed that people like my art.

-Realizing just how much knowledge the scholars have, and that I'll be one of them, able to learn all this, and will be kept in the loop of all this knowledge.  Kinda humbling for me as a new character.

-The RP when Paige was brought back to life, and realized her sacrifice hadn't been in vain

-The whole main mod this moon led to some very interesting VERY internal RP for me, balancing grief, anger, and hatred versus acceptance, inability to hate, and a wish for understanding, all mixed with strong shock.

-Breaking down post main mod due to said mix of feelings, finally coming to grips with the fact that my primary thought processes match with Chronicler's tenets.

-Declaring to Aleister that I wish him to eventually train me to be his replacement as priest of Chronicler.

Seriously, here I am on my second event, taking my second list.  I had PROMISED myself that I wouldn't decide on my third list for at least a few more months, and would go where RP sent me.  And then main mod happened followed by learning that Aleister had converted.....

Forgot one very important highlight:

Right as feast was ending, I started having an anxiety attack, which typically manifests in me as depression, uncontrolled tears, etc etc etc.  Not fun.  I caught it coming up, but without the support and help I got from a lot of you in the community, I wouldn't have been able to shake it.  This was probably the easiest I've ever gotten through one of these attacks, and less than an hour later I was perfectly okay.  Thanks so much to those of you who helped (for many of you it was just by being around and continuing your own RP).

Even though I had work that disrupted my ability to go to the actual feast itself, awesome weekend.
Caelvan had so many things going mentally on this weekend

Friday Night(NPC Shift)
-Being both types of Barbarians, good who warned of bad and bad who was just pissed
-Helping the New Players learn combat, by doing a small bandit group, we asked for money, women, and shoes

Saturday
-I got back and start talking about being Colin's squire with him. Learned a lot from him and that was before I even was his squire

Main Mod
-Seeing Leandra on the ground behind the huge line of enemies, grabbing Ravn, a new player(don't know her name), and Adarius to go after her and get her out of there
-Going to help someone and scaring away the thing that was attacking him with my bow....only to be downed a minute later because a group of four came after me
-After I was down I applaud the NPC who rotted my weapons and leg....you were very thorough
-Being so confused in the Monastery after being woken up 7 minutes into my death count
--Got so pissed when I was ordered to give over my last arrow during main mod when I just found an opening to shoot from(Damn being a private)

Saturday after main mod
-Top highlight, Got squired to Sir Colin of Kaladonia (Caelvan was pretty nervous that he wouldn't be able to handle it)
-Rose went missing and Colin turned the experience into a lesson for his new squire
-Goley your mod with the drink/dream was awesome, Caelvan had a lot of emotional things going on during that

Sunday
-OOG: went to get breakfast at a bagel place, my girlfriend got an one dollar that had a written B and a R on the back where it says one.
-Finally got to teach someone....not one, but two lessons
-Learned a new game on how to improve my 1HE
-Got "Elfnapped" by Sorel, Rose, and Colin to go to Winterdark slung over Rose's shoulder

I'm exhausted from what remains of an awesome whirlwind of an event that is somewhat of a blur because of naps and remaining fatigue... but here's what got me there:

Friday -

More healing lessons with Marika... there's just the right amount of... viciousness... in your methods to really drive home the point of how important it is to get *everything* right, down to the fine details, when performing healing spells.

Khitanese with Misaki. The look on your face when I you realized I could speak the "language" already, out of game... I'm sorry, but that was just priceless. Honestly, it's just going to be nice not to have to hold it in when I randomly think of the word for something in Japanese instead of English.

More fun at the forge. It's nice to work with people and, you know, actually work with them on something. There's a bond there that's different from fighting and healing... appreciably so.

Daggers with Nyle... I love that lesson.

Drow, dammit.

Having half of a conversation with Father Kwildar about the path I seem to be heading down... We never got to finish it, but the beginning was good...

(Don't remember if this was Friday or not, but I think it was...) One of the early night-fights, I dished out some Heal All Wounds to people... When they thanked me, I told them I had their back... and each time, I heard some variation of, "I know you do." (five failed attempts at summary later) I can't properly express how good that makes me feel, in or out of character.

(also may not have been Friday) Lifestyle conversation with Almat, Elric, and... um... I forget the other people. After a silly conversation where we're trying to figure out how to unload as many fish-themed things on Almat as possible, I suggest, "Maybe she'd like a 'dag' instead?"

NPC -

Lots of weird farming stuff... including a lumberjack. Who was okay. Especially after his axe was fixed.

4 Body red herrings at the end of the shift... incredibly racist hick red herrings... who stole Sir Cinder's shield and made it a fancy new table.

Saturday -

Joy at Mass! XD Awesome stories, wonderful feelings of friendship.

When Bran's singing voice was impugned upon, launching into an impromptu trio with me and Almat, ending in an improvised three-part harmony at the end. Fun stuff.

Rockfist's Crypt was awesome... and more warm fuzzy feelings of togetherness when we agreed to let Fearghil (god help me but I can't spell for [censored] in Gaelic) take Bloodtusk's tusk... but what was better was BEARRRRRRDS.

Feast was excellent, as per usual. Wonderful work, everyone.

Main mod was *insane*. I got to confuse the hell out of a bunch of the NPC's with Rockfist's blessing... healed a lot of people for a *looooot* of damage, and then had to deal with my apprentice's noble sacrifice... one that I haven't been called upon to make. Wonderful RP with both people I resurrected... but I still wish I hadn't had to. Also: My sword has a name now!

(much of the rest is forgotten)

Elves. *cough*

Sunday -

Elementals... part of this balanced Sunday morning breakfast. These ones were pretty even-tempered, though.

Kill or Be Killed... good game.

Order plot... it's kinda sad to be graduating, but who knows, they may still need me to help out.

More hobgoblins... wooooo.

There's stuff missing, to be sure... but I'm wiped. not even enough to play Skyrim. See you all at the Banquet.

Na'ar Chacov, Soul of the Stars.

Ayiri Amexis, Sorceress' Apprentice.
Lupta Tamasa, Torn and Blackened.

Funny event for me... just funny.  The oddball remarks, jokes, comments, & left field stories told by the campfire, in the statehouse, over food, & all over the camp site during mods... that made my weekend.

Nice to see everyone, & the changes to Logistics were awesome.

Also, it was made apparent, clear, & proved beyond a doubt that goblins are not just annoying green-skinned pests.  Get a disciplined force of them... & they will wreck you.  Also, numbers mean a big things  A swarm, even low level, can kick the crap outta anyone.

Kudos to the writers & staff for bringing back the fear, the desperation, & the harsh lesson that everyone needs to be careful & death is right around the corner.

Ohmigoodness. I had such a marvelous event. But ultimately, even with all the fun that was to be had at the Mage's Guild meeting and the Light Mass, and with all the AMAZING RP that I had with a bunch of people (Mal, Goose, Tom, as always at the top of my list), two events just totally blew my mind, IG and OOG.

#1, of course, Ridigan's proposal at feast. Remi felt like such a dope, having already seen the ring and assuming it was from another woman, only to find out it was her engagement ring. And now that THAT misunderstanding has been cleared up, she's never been happier.  ;D

#2, Sunday morning 6 AM werewolves. Oh god. Seriously AMAZING roleplay from Jake and Pat on that one- Jake, you play the monologuing villain SO well, and Pat, when you put on that werewolf mask my blood ran cold. I still can't believe Remi was dumb enough to follow you down there, thinking you were ordinary bandits and that she could talk you out of your life of crime.... as I was walking down that hill I had the out of game thought, "I'm probably going to take a death down here," and then went, "But it's what my character would do..." and I don't regret it in the slightest (though Remi most certainly does). Of course, SuperKudos to Magnus for saving me, and nearly dying to do it, and even more kudos to Caledonia, Cinder, and Sorel, for coming to save HIM, 'cause he got himself beat up pretty darn good. Ultimately, coolest way to start Sunday morning, EVER.  ;D

Friday:
-NPCing a goblin: I was doing fine in the fight, escaped, then didn't know what to do for awhile. Roamed the woods around by myself for a little but everyone was smart and stayed in big groups.
-NPCing a drow that kidnapped an NPC. Had the group shift just five more feet into the woods and no one could find us.

Ilana:
Drow, Drow, 6AM Drow, reanimation X.x  All I wanted to do was go to bed.
--
Saturday
Got an hour nap in and helped with breakfast as promised. Helped a new elf named Ari(sp?) with taking orders. Wiped out a group of trolls who tried eating a person at the bar. (I was nice and warned them three times first) Officially sick when I woke up though X.x I was pretty stupid for the rest of the day. Almost everyone was pretty nice about it though.  "Nature Eyes... wait.. ugh I just said Nature cause you did ._."

-Adventurer's Guild! All I did was escort a botanist around the woods but it was still a very pleasant walk around. I think we almost ran into a group of Legion though... we found a random (and large) group of various goblinoids off in the woods. We stared at each other for a little and we slowly retreated and it went well. Ah well, can't wait for more adventures.

-Umber Hulk!

-Ilana having a somewhat terrible revelation during mass, but while waiting for the druid meeting to start, people made it a bit better. Ilana maybe realized she has real friends.

-Totem Meditation meeting was awesome. Missed out on wildmage mice...? Nature is truly falling apart.

Main Mod:
-Antrim telling me to set-up a triage in Pendarvin but no one else getting the memo apparently. I sat in there for about 10 minutes before I heard some Drow talking at the door and I think start trying to break in? I didn't stick around to ask them.

-Meeting Liam as his NPC. Both of us immediately: "Lightning Storm!" "Lightning Shield/Elemental Shield" .... "Lightning Storm!" I found it pretty hilarious it was an Air genasi of all things and that's the only kind of attack I had this month. The line of NPCs I tried breaking up for the new kids. I hit them a lot with storms before I gave up and agreed with the retreat. Ilana's not that awesome.

-Trying to RP/NPC the Angel while sick wasn't terribly fun but it was nice being able to heal everyone. Also Jason and the others being nice to me during my last little fight. Fifty and fifteen sound a lot alike while fighting by the way >_>'

-'Reappearing' as Ilana to start helping with the slew of resuscitates in the monastery.

-I kept trudging waiting for Carlos and attempted psion bottle mod part 2 but I couldn't do it. Passed out around 3? didn't wake up till 10. 7 hours of straight sleep!? Yep. Sick.

Overall I had a lot of fun though. Shane, I hope your eye gets better soon!

I am not a frequent poster on the forums. I generally prefer to keep my experiences to myself as many are very personal. I attempt to keep in game issues to myself to better my experience at Knight Realms.

As a role play marshall, I want to acknowledge the intensity of the role playing last weekend. It was truly remarkable and I am unable to recall an event that had such a level of emotional involvement between the characters. It was truly infectious. There are a few players I need to see about role playing points. There were times I could not and would not do anything to interfere with a scene.

I want to thank everyone who helped make this event a momentous one for me and the character I attempt to portray. I will not list them here but you certainly know who you are and I am still reeling from the experience.

I am proud to be a small part of such a great group.

um...wow...i don't even know.  Moral of this weekend don't attempt to go to bed and when you do...close your eyes and ears  so you don't run off and try to be a hero when you are literaly steps from calling it a night.  Had a lot of fun but Ashling definatly rode the fail carivan into the sunset.

Friday:  Had a blast running around with Gwenith and Cycilia looking for trouble annoying the crap out of people.  We tried so hard to find trouble.

Late Late Late friday night...Found trouble...a lot.  Was just about to go to bed when we heard screaming from Winterdark, went down to help and through a series of stupid decisions died in the field as three seperate groups of people ran past me and didn't see me and a decent number of people came looking for me.  Favorite part was Misaki carrying me back muddering "stupid yellow dragons" under his breath.  Yellow is definatly the Hufflepuff of the dragon colors.  Reanimation was great and terrible, as was hearing "You are not allowed to make bad-ass speeches and then die!"  totaly blanking on your characters name but Londwin guy with the red sword, I love you!

NPC shift: Akward villigers are akward

Kamen! I love you...we will be the death of eachother

Main mod: holy crap there were more npcs then pcs and I think it peed a little.  Also getting knocked out and a minute later hearing the retreat and thinking "crap not again!"  Death number 2.  fml

Getting brought through the focus into brooding drama central and finaly celting through the situation.  "Ok guys (Bran and Shamus) everything is terrible, but we're Celts, we've lost battles before so what do we do? We drink for several days, figure out what went wrong, and then we fix it because tomorrow is another day.  So lets drink until we can't feel feelings anymore!"  man that cider was good.

Sunday werewolf party was fun.  Glad to save Remi from her werewolf , um, suitor?

Go big or go home

First and foremost I want to thank the marshals for being such good sports about being a non-combat weekend NPC with the busted finger. New Logistics by the way is fantastic. Don't ever think of going back.

My top few moments
*  Alex's anti-paladin "changing plans" and telling me to find out where Lord Ardentfyre was and saying calmly he meant no harm to him but if I failed he would cut off my "pretty little hand" all in the same breath. You were truly convincing as a terrifying bad ass.
*  having storytellers come up to me and ask me if I would be interested to help with their mods. I really am honored to be considered specifically.
*  Frank demanding when he heard I was doing a full weekend NPC again: "When are you going to start PCing?!" in this indignant 'goddamnit' tone. It was touching that people are intrigued to see what I will toss together.
*  Running around as the infamous Midnight Merchants Anne and Fredrick Wright with Norm and having people not only remember us but clamor for our goods. Always a pleasure working with you Norm. Frank--have fun with your snake oil.
*  Being Jenny with her Uncle Arty, a priest of Galladell. I got a hug from the Arch Bishop and blessed by the Ascended Malcolm all within 5 minutes. Cheesecake for breakfast really is the best idea ever.  ;)
*  Seeing my boyfriend, Damian, really rock it as the King of Madness at the Inn and starting a cult following. It made me so proud to see him having so much fun doing what he loves.
*  Witnessing the "sorcery accident" that killed Gideon and Ardin. Then the hilarity afterwards when Lathiel and Quan Liu were locked in and their hijinks to get out.
*  Making so many new friends and spending more time with those I'm already close with.
*  The passwords for the Mage Guild's Gabriel's Door for the past month have really touched my heart. Ardin really is a big ol' softy on the inside.
*  Preparing my PC and all the insanity that will go along with it. Sorry folks, she's not coming till February. Derrick--I can't wait to make this a reality. Thanks for all your help.

Let's see. Where to start.
Well, might I say that this was one of the best events I have attended. Not only was there lots of combat, but some of the best role-playing I"ve ever seen ensued.
Friday Night
NPC Shift
I didn't really do much besides just be an Ogre Warlord. The best part was when we needed answers and we saw Jonas(James), Lucas(Goley), and Tori's Sylph[Tori(good costuming as a Sylph)]. Goley decided to go invisible or climb. James "Climb"ed up a tree and Tori used Levitate. Us Ogres decided to get answers from James, so we shaked the tree with +6 Strength and James' roleplaying of struggling. We asked him who the ruler of these lands were and he said, "Well, he's black" We said "A Dark Elf?" He said, "No, ummm." It was really a funny role-playing experience.
The Ogres and Orcs with me had some sort of "understanding" with the Dark Elves and we decided to help out.
Most of NPCs I was with this shift were NPCs for the whole event.
Saturday
Early, Early Morning
Don't really remember much besides the fact that I wanted nothing else but sleep.
Nap time!
Being woken up by battle and being too tired to get out of bed to actually help people, so I decided to stay in bed and healed Quan Liu from there. I was really tired.
Went back to sleep.
I woke up around 11AM so thats good enough for me.

Saturday Afternoon
I was hungry so thankfully when I entered the inn, the first thing I did when I woke up, Market Faire was happening, so I bought gingerbread from Bran(they were really good). I had some tea from T'soli.
I had to switch over to another 1-2 hour NPC shift because people needed me.
Then, what I was finally waiting for the whole time, combat.
That mod that ensued by the maze was a really fun experience for me with elementals everywhere I looked.
Coming back and the really long wait for feast to occur.
Finally it did, but I forgot how much I was hungry when the pork came out. Luis you always do good for feast.

Saturday Night
After Feast, I headed to the Mages' Guild to watch some sorcery with Ardin and Gideon.
And.....they both died. What a turn of events!
Thankfully they were resurrected.
I missed most of what I thought was the main battle.
An hour later, I found out that that battle was just the beginning.
We were doing good for the first half an hour or so, but then the goblinoids fighting the main force and the dark elves fighting those who moved away, Travance was starting to fall back.
Eventually we went back to the Monastery with the little out-of-game accident of the deck partially collapsing.
Then I fought in the area between the Monastery and the Inn.
I went back in the Inn and then the Dark Elves came in and asked for 1000 gold worth of magic items.
I went to sleep.
Sunday Morning
Being woken up on the occasion of elementals or something. they didn't stand a chance when Antrim decided to Perfect Aim Incinerate them.
I finally got up and there were ogres that attcked Dante. Then the goblins. Jenna, you did a good job role-plaing a goblin with a sword too big. Cy, you did a good as a goblin that was finally going to be like a real goblin. then I had to leave.
Lowlights
It was cold
It was muddy
And I hated leaving

I hope all of the events can be as fun of an experience as rhis one.

In 5+ years at KR, I have never seen, let alone participated in as intense and gratifiying (both IC and OOC) as the hour and a half inquest roughly 0130-0300 Sunday.  Present were Mothers Darkheart (Angel) and Chance (Laura W.), Guildmaster Ardin Silverbow (Norm) and myself.  Brief, but phenominal walk -ons were contributed by Br. Brogan Mysthammer (Chris De.) and Billium (Gene Stern).  It was both a pleasure and an honor to participate.

I am not going to even begin to write of what occurred.  There were no bit parts, nothing was left inside any of us - well maybe Gene, as his was a very brief appearance, but totally great.  The repurcussions from this scene will reverberate throughout Travance on several levels for some time.  My thanks to all who were there.

I will mention one other point as it is involved periperally.  There was an compelling scene going on for about 15 minutes of the inquest in front of the Altar outside our small room.  The noise was interrupting us and upsetting Mother. Darkheart, as there was no doubt someone was being killed.  I opened the door and saw two paladins with the Archbishop keenly observing, killing someone. with a large group of people behind the Archbishop also observing.  I closed the door, and went back to what we were doing.  :)

I will post other highlights later but this one is in a class of its own.

PC:
-Meeting Carlos for the first time. It was not what Carlotta expected. But the tarot reading she got was by far the most irritating she had ever received. Irritating because it was completely right! It was also downright spooky when something predicted came true just hours later, and in a much more concrete form that I had ever imagined it would.
- Singing (more like screaming) at the top of my lungs with Tsoli while holding off drow with divine sanctuary scrolls. It helped keep the fear down, and also seemed to thoroughly irritate the dark elves. Double plus!
- Assisting with a Sorcery ritual. Brenden did an amazing job marshaling, and made it a very unique and humbling experience for a young mage.
- Adventurer's Guild! I felt like such a big girl, playing ball with many higher level PCs. JJ, you did a great job playing an absent minded scholar. It was hard not to break character and laugh.
- Receiving a rose from a certain gypsy man.
- Accidentally knocking Gideon unconscious during a Wyvern Watch lesson. How embarrassing....
- The mage's guild meeting was wonderful. We had such an awesome turn out, and so completely wrecked a group of NPCs that wandered by. Except for the Umber Hulk played by Vince. That took some real work. Either way it was a very good fight.
- Feast was amazing! I could rave about that pork for hours. Thank you, Louis.
- I gave my very first lesson. And it was to someone who was OOG much more knowledgable on the subject than myself. But they were such a good sport.
- You'll notice none of these highlights include Main Mod. Carlotta heard there was an army coming and promptly decided to rabbit. What a coward. <3

NPC:
-New logistics! I love it. So toasty warm and organized! I think the water cooler with the hot water option is my new best friend. I shall call him Bubbles.
- Larry and Chris, you were both great marshals. Thank you for being so understanding, and for coming up with great little roles for me.
- I finally got to wear that creepy/bad-ass armor when I went out as a dark dwarf. I've always wanted to!
- Lydia the mysterious glowing elf may have been the most fun I've had NPCing yet. For a minute there, I thought Tom and I were going to get arrested!
- "Surge-cast Chimney Portal." That was really on my card, folks.

Friday:
-Coming back to town and landing on the porch via Flight on Angel's Wings and the WTF reactions from clergy.
-After seeing the red cross on my tabard, finally being recognized as a real Templar by a select few individuals, then the resulting jokes that ensued.

Saturday:
-Malcolm McBride.  I've been looking forward to this day since the day he ascended.  And then not too long after McBride left, Shalok shows up.  So two Templars for the price of one.
-Light Mass.  It's nice having a lighthearted mass again for once.
-"Almighty Galladel Hear my prayer... BENCH!" as Brother Lighthammer (Walter) walks into the room bench in hand.
-Some VERY serious RP and the IG reprecussions that are going to follow.
-Seeing Goley and Jason's NPC's come up to me and say they need healing, thinking to myself this is a terrible idea, but definately what I'd do IG, only to be told not ten minutes later that they were assassins and to be killed on sight.
-Main mod and finally getting to summon an Angel.

Sunday:
-Order mod NPC shift
-Dumb ogre NPC's

Holy Crap awesome event with some of the best RP i've had there.

Friday night(the busy one lol)
Starting off, hijinks with Bolton and asking how the gimmick to magic worked and writing in illsuionary script on his jacket to explain, totally freaked him out, awesome.

Mage Guild social with our sorcery dabblers and the resulting hilarity of a dog-mage, you guys did that fantastically and i look forward to their return.

Challenging Tobar to a battle of Wit for 5 gold, a simple riddle which I won, i forsee an attempt at trying to get his claim to better wit back sooner or later... it's just a stone's throw away.

after doing research about said dabblers request( the high elf and 2 londawyns what a combo), getting ganked in the barons manor and needing to find someone to get me my right arm back

finding leandra who was nice enough to regenerate the limb just in time for a wild drow chase with ardin and knowing shit i might die if i find em, but we never found em, exhale....for now

Carlos's reading... just wow.

Now the night gets nuts..... drow outside the mages guild the one night the mythal isn't reinstated from the arcanite. held up a divine sanctuary for over a half hour while intentionally singing incredibly off key in attempt to annoy them into leaving.

Didn't work arm finally gave out and i made a break for it in the moccasins. Damn metaphysical attacks and being 1mp shy of an invis that would have gotten me passed them.

Eventually succumbing to the forces much stronger than me, being enslaved and telling them nothing. Which ended up in my first death. Totally a sick RP session and if i'm gonna die that's the way i wanna go out.

Being brought back through the focus at 6am, Liz well done for the time of night/morning/stOOOOOpid o clock.

Saturday

Sorcery after 2.5 hours of sleep and using my first 2 srp. Brendon, really cool descriptions of what was felt.

Ardin deciding that my ritual was next as i died, I was gonna get pushed off but with death came guilt lol.

Market faire was cool as usual, gingerbread and selling tea and the rest of the usual awesomeness that are us merchants.

Gideon asking me, can I enslave you for a lesson, Me: umm do you know what happened last night, i was enslaved and killed by drow... Geoff your face was priceless

Finding out that Bolton had avenged my death was very touching that he thought that much of me after seeing my dead body being carried, I was tearing up, very touching.

Mage meeting - awesomeness

Feast assistance, becoming a regular thing and i love it, kitchen staff is becoming a sub family in the KR family <3 all you guys

NPC - goblin brigade ... hearing more fireworks and asking, did he say lore fireworks, then getting snapped to silence by the general. really well done in organizing.

done npc shift then SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

Sunday

Waking up to ardin coming in with Damien and the whole sunday morning RP

Then not being usless in a battle with goblins and ogres... I grew a great affinity for the spell blind, ogre charges... ogre stops charging. mwhahaha

All and all great event everyone, had so so so much fun and dying was worth it, look forward to seeing you all soon!

I can't remember highlights in terms of when they happened. I hope no one minds the randomness. Heh.

-- So, first, the RP with Zahir was great. And I think will be great. Cause frankly, who gets courted anymore? Marvelous. I also find it a highlight that it looks like my sphere of people to RP with will increase with this new story thread.
-- Also (and extremely internal) was the goodness of watching certain people walk by when Livia was with Zahir. I enjoy reading facial expressions and guessing what they mean. Or guessing what they are guessing.
-- Dying. I'll note - I've been LARPing for a good 13 years now ... I have learned that death often promotes some of the most excellent RP for large groups of players, and this time was no exception.
-- The whole goblinoid invasion was pretty rediculous, actually. I mean, in a good way. Fantasically tense. Excellent for all involved, in considering all the choices that had to be made.
-- One thing I really liked is the fact that Livia, at the last event, opined that The Powers That Be shouldn't have executed a non-Travancian creature of a completely different kingdon, due to the potential and unknown repercussions ... and it appears she had good reason to be concerned. I only wish, just a little bit, that I knew who to do the whole 'I told you so' dance at.
-- Desperation in the Baron's Manor.
-- Being a spirit, and later being pulled through the focus. Thank you, Laura - and also Karla.
-- The interesting irony involved in being pulled through the focus in the first place. First, there was the fact that Livia knew she wanted Marika to do it -- but no one could find Marika. Why? Well... because Marika was trying to save a bunch of other people - and being assualted.  Which made a conversation that Livia had later - much, much later - not just awesome, but effing golden.
-- Livia's (observed!) conversation with Raphael after she died.  For serious.
-- Occupy Winterdark! Down with noble greed! Unite the people with eggnog!
-- 30 seconds of Shen telling Livia that she must interrogate a particular someone every month with him present. 30 seconds packed with awful. And goodness.

Props to Goose for his RP in regards to Illona's curse, to Laura for her RP in pulling people through the focus, to Geoff (again) for his teaching RP. And to the STs and marshalls of this event.

wow... just wow...
first off I am sorry for having to bail early, but due to a situation back home we had to leave.

now... as for my highlights.

NPC shift:

for the record, I love helping out with the newbie mods, even if I am not signed up for first shift (or whatever shift you run it on), feel free grab me for it!

Playing an Aguarran is fun... *burst into the baronial manor* "Good evening!" *then proceed to gank the people inside*
as the same Aguarran, teaching a lowbie that is a BAD IDEA to walk around on your own at night... well at least I left one limb unbroken so he could knock on the door.
and then there was the epic death of my Aguarran.
I also gotta admit that I like playing as an Aguarran, it lets me take out the frustrations of working in tech support.

Friday night.
Getting cut open on one of the couches to remove a parasitic infection.
trying not to burst out laughing at some of the things said during the aforementioned procedure.
becoming completely tapped out from repairing armor, sharpening weapons, and making things after people found out that I finally knew how to work with mithril.
then stupid o'clock came... and I broke most of the people in the inn when I told them what something that one of the crazy people said actually meant.
then there was sleep... or a valiant attempt at it.

Saturday.
once again, becoming tapped out in record time from fixing even more people's mithril gear.
more smithing lessons... I wonder how close I am to being able to get my promo now... *starts doing the math* oh hey... I should prolly start working on writing up my legendary work!
walking out of the monastery to hear the sounds of fighting, then coming in just as an assassin was trying to get away by running past me.

Main Mod:
wow... just... wow... the RP during the first half was amazing. then there was the second half... I just have to say one thing about the second half of main mod: I LOVE the changes made to assistant... despite being locked up in the monastary I was still able to be helpful when the pile of people in crit came in and the physicians were up to their eyes in bodies.

Sunday: didn't get to do much since I had to leave early due to the situation at home (if you really want to know,  PM me, or ask me on facebook) but still, aside from the real downer at the end of my weekend, everything was absolutely amazing.

on a side note... I need to talk to someone about getting a permanent Item card for my mithril pledge item. I was gonna do that Sunday morning.

You know its funny....I hadnt really been able to sleep going up to the event, something that stayed from Fri to Sat. But something that has thankfully been killed due to the whole event.

Friday-
-getting invited to the Mages guild get together. Nice RP with Brendan- Mae is on a mission to try to find out if something she believes is true and she will not stop until she knows. Rather amusing to me because its not something that I, as Liz, had ever really thought about- even when I played a mage!
-I wanted 10 min to just talk to someone. Nope, hobgoblins, drow, orcs, oh my!
-Seeing Alex's character and seriously not wanting to help him. Had no clue what to do with him- reprimanding him for throwing things was amusing though- especially when I found out who he was. I had a lot of conversations with people about that and a lot of mixed feelings. I cant wait to see whats in store!
-Up until 8 am. 9 hours of running- my calves hated my guts.
-Loved the rp with Bolton. I just kept walking into things and I love it when things fall into place :)

Sat-
-Loved the rp with new and old people
-Sleeping on the couch for 2 hours- ftw
-Feast

NPC-
-Being sooooo thankful that I was, in fact, not pcing.
-Being surprised that our tactics worked as well as they did
-Lots of good exercise!

Sat night-
-RP. Lots of it. Dont really remember it, but I know it was all excellent.

Sun
-There was no Sunday. There was just blessed sleep.

See you guys at the awards banquet! Awesome event!

I rarely post in the highlight's threads, but a few moments this event I particularly liked.

NPCing Drow for whatever Derrick was doing. Haven't put on blackface in years. A+ drow, would Drow again. Matt's interrogation should totally be put into the random quotes.

Spending more time in Logistics than I have in a long time. Remembering my constant NPCing days.

Various folk wanting to talk about Chronicler and fate. Considering going priest, now that we've lost our only remaining one. (Not that he ever gave mass or anything)

Making fun of Osred's name with Blade, including "OOPS... Sorry... You look like Blade Scotch-Buddy."

Field Goal Rescue:
me     "Invoke Body Block"
NPC  "DEFENSE SKILL"
me     "Not you! Blacktree, over the fence!"

A number of things from the most challenging main mod since at least the last Pesmerga event. Including, but not limited to;
The number of times I almost died in a single hour
Running around frantically looking for bodies to bring back, since at my level, fighting that close to the circle was a bad idea.
Holding up in the inn taking out what seemed to be a lot of the enemy (not enough, alas) and figuring out how we were going to get to the others moments before receiving word that we were not to continue hostilities

Also, I couldn't help but lol about the fact that even though some (newer) characters took up "For Tsoli" as a drow-killing battle-cry, not one of them seemed to know how to pronounce his name. I heard Tolsi, Tosli, Tolis, and about 3 or 4 other pronunciations.

I know that I say this after every event, but whew what an event!

Friday Night
-Ah, so that's where Magnus was this whole time!
-The return of Orias Wormwood.  The last time Misaki was that nervous about being around powerful, "evil" PCs/NPCs was the Evernight dinner.
-Drow assassins.  Why is it always Drow assassins?

Misaki: Surround him!  Don't let him escape!
Drow: Dark Intimidation Lvl. 40!
Misaki: ...*backs away*  Still don't let him escape!

-First use of Dissipate Undead!  I still have a lot to learn though  :-[

Saturday Morning

Townsmember: *bursts into the Monastery*  We need help!  Drow are attacking again!  *slams door shut*
Misaki:  *puts pillow over face, curses at Drow again, and dresses to fight drow...again*

-finding Ashling dead ..."stupid yellow dragons"   ;)
-Props to Bolton, Ilana, Kwildar, and Gwynedd for excellent RP with Ashling's reanimation.  Also, posi con. ftw
-Goose's Soup/Breadbowl combo at feast = a VERY satisfied dragoon.  That was absolutely spectacular.

The Saturday Midday Ogre Mod
I cannot for the life of me remember everybody who was playing an Ogre at that time, but I have to say that that group of random monsters alone could have made my entire weekend.  Misaki and Cy are both constantly finding new ways to bring excitement and head-scratching awe to Travance/KR and it couldn't have been done this time without excellent RP from the Ogres.  My favorite moment still has to be when these guys broke into the Baronial Manor.  Misaki was in a playful mood and had turned invisible to keep an eye on them.  As soon as they had all walked inside, Misaki stands at the door and bellows into the Manor, saying that the place is haunted and if the Ogres don't leave, they'll be killed.  The Ogres freak out, remember their apple (ha!) and book it.  A++, would spook again  ;D

-Meditation with Elawyn et al. and the creepy, CREEPY vision that I had oog.  Misaki may be scarred temporarily.
-Actually getting to chat briefly with Antrim!  Very informational, yet left lots more questions.
-Luis, feast rocked.  Excellently done.

Saturday Night
-Talks with, fighting with, and recovering the body of Cinder.  I can't even put into words how awesome it was.  Sad, but awesome.
-Was it just me, or was was Main Mod this time the toughest it has ever been?  All the same, good workout

Goley's Mod
I've been attending KR now for about 3 years and this has got to be one of my top 3 favorite mods of all time now.  The different things happening, the slight inclusion of Misaki's backstory/nightmare, and how it all wrapped up at the end was just amazing.  In all seriousness, I laughed, I cried, I flipped a sh*t, and sh*t flipped me all within about a 2-3 hour time frame.  Fantastic job, Goley!

PS. Jersey friend rule, Jason

Sunday Morning

Remi: *runs into the Monastery freaking out*  There's werewolves out there and Magnus needs help!
Misaki: *repeats Saturday morning's reaction and goes to help, only to find out they're already taken care of*

-"Liek a reeeeeeel goblin?!"  Odo now has a younger brother, I'm sure of it  ;D
-As frustrating as it was, Tsoli/Bill repeatedly using invisibility and blind on my orc fighter.  What can I say, the guy knows how to play the game.

Overall, this event was superspecialawesomespecialsecretamazingness.  But man oh man, I can't wait for January event  ;)

Poor Cy. You were definitely half-asleep for that whole thing. Actually I got carried into the monastery by Rose because all my limbs were broken. Field Goal Rescue:
me     "Invoke Body Block"
NPC  "DEFENSE SKILL"
me     "Not you! Blacktree, over the fence!"

Definitely one of my highlights, including the follow up:

vince: "Jenna, I Body Blocked you over the fence!"
me: "I'M ON IT!" *takes a running start and HURLS self over fence, to a chorus of pained "OOOOF!"'s from onlookers*

I'm not usually a highlight poster either, but it's a testament to just how righteously awesome Saturday's battle was that even though we were completely and utterly curbstomped, I haven't heard A. Single. PC. Complain. That is like, UNHEARD OF. Well done EVERYONE!!!

Missed a great opportunity during the battle: accidentally ran into what I THOUGHT was Lethias and Magnus by the inn, screaming "IT'S BLACKTREE, DON'T SHOOT!" only to realize I had just ran directly into the arms of the Drow. After they cut me down, they healed me back up and the following transpired:

Drow: "why did you say 'don't shoot'?"
me: "i mistook you in the dark"
drow: "thats a shame" *kills me*

I immediately realized in hindsight that they might have thought I was trying to defect or something, and I had let slip an awesome opportunity for comedic gold by claiming to have Underdark Fever ;-).

Edit: Ok, there's one I have to toot my own horn on, because I just felt awesome. While we're all taking a quick respite at the monastery, Clyden comes up and states that she can't be of any more use, she's not going back to the fight. To which I immediately flatly state "Good. Give me your quiver. I'm going." Then she ACTUALLY gave them to me, and I thought "$@!%^$! Now I really DO have to go back in!" Saluted Quan Liu (and you can just tell Luis is about to poop his pants from trying not to laugh), who tells me to "die with honor" before I dove back in. Jokes on you Luis, I'M THE ONLY ONE WHO SURVIVED!

And of course, there's the follow up to that, while using Clyden's arrows:

*nock, draw, release*
*nock, draw, release*
*nock, draw, release*
*nock, draw, re-* "wait, what the... HOLY CRAP, THIS ONE IS REAL!"

Someone overhears and calls a hold, 30 people swing around and stare at me standing there basically holding the murder weapon.

"Uh, I, um, I-- look guys, I wasn't going to SHOOT it..."

Fun times with Alex B. bringing back his old PC!

Thanks everyone who gave me kudos and thank yous for the cuts and bruises I painted on my face. It feels really good to know that a throwaway "hey wouldn't this be fun" thought ended up really adding to the atmosphere for so many people.

All hunters die. But not today.
