Interesting event, to be sure.
Friday night was tough. Self-defense, even when it's warranted, is not something Ori's good at. Crafting a poem, though... that's fun.
Saturday was really cool. I definitely want to go to the Druid Grove again. I really enjoyed the lessons, too, so thanks to Caelvan and Keavy for those. Also, Vince, the Shadow Creature was just plain hilarious. Main mod was *brutal*, but really fun. Kudos to the staff for planning it.
NPC was lots of fun. Being a crazy relocating spider and a starving ghoul was good fun.
Sunday was nice and low-key, so I had just enough energy to make it home.
See you in September!

It's not about 'First', especially since Anaximander Phaedrus was a were-something and lord of Drega'Mire long before Crasis.
Also, on the Aleister side of things, I think his "Been there, done that" will prevent him from going evil again, at least for a number of years. I think he'll die epicly first, Garrison Corvin style.
I'm pleased everyone was amused by the shadow on Saturday. It seems like the general consensus was that it was funny to watch it happen to other people, but nobody seemed to think it was funny when I started chasing them. Highlights include tricking Hamish into high-fiving me, and stalking Zathir like a savannah lion.
Also all of the Friday night adventures with people I never hang out with, or people I don't see often enough.

Who wants to take bets how long it will take for Aleister to go evil just like the rest?
Crasis beat you to it.

I want to thank Mike Smith for a fun weekend plot that offered a very challenging final fight for the town. I was delighted to play one of the mini-mod bosses and it was good to see Wally as a mod boss again.
Oh so they did get somebody...
Highlights:
-Saturday night as the mad bomber NPC: Accusing Jack Cypher of attacking me and all of the role-play reaction to it, as well as the ralenfolly way of handling things
-Playing a variety show of NPC's, havn't done that in a long time and it was a good refresher
-Main-Mod combat
-Saturday A.M. getting woke up by scorpion/devil monster things vs. celts in their skippys was hilarious.
See everyone in October!

-Being attacked by grim guardians and spiders while walking up to the inn, and having my legs taken and eaten. WOO!

NPC: Menagerist Giant Scorpion mod. Best NPC creature ever! Thanks Shane!
Then a Druid Dryad.
Then a Goblin Ghoul.
Back as Keavy
Being taunted by those hunters, mocking her wolf upbringing. Pissed Keavy off. I loved this
Having to chase down the damn Crow that picked up Caelvan from the tent only to find him on the ground by Ostcliff with broken limbs. Spent nearly all my Druid points to bring his health back. It was also a way for Keavy to try soothing him since she was scared. One of the hunters healed his limbs, making Keavy reconsider her anger for the hunters. Somewhat.
Saturday:
Woke to demons, and gained two more minor insanities! Headaches and Meloncholia, which is perfect for a character who barely sleeps!
Shadow creature ring battle. First touch was intercepted by Tatsuya. Second was because Keavy was trying to lure it away from people in the Inn. Barely managed to win. Vince, you were a fabulous shadow creature.
Druids Grove Totem meditation. Keavy was incredibly happy to go again, and curious about her totem as well as sparking a new inquiry about her birth parents.
Seeing that Caelvan was in the ring, and somehow making people think I'd run into it? "I'm not going into it! I've already been inside it! I just want to be near it to support my mate!"
And so being there when he is tossed out of the ring and has to be healed by Kamei.
Talks before feast makes Keavy curious about trying Florentine.
Learning Civil Service over watermelon, and witnessing the fabrication of Waterhelmen!
Main Mod:
Honestly, very confusing. Dropped to Crit once. Teamed with Bagwell the majority of the battle, but also fought alongside Sir Colin and other Kaladonians.
Wanting to go to sleep so badly, in and out of game, but having one thing after another wake us up or interrupt us. I was so pissed, that IG Keavy wanted to rip off some heads.
Sunday
Black crow gang thing. Felt pretty frustrated. Meh.
Had to leave early, but learned small weapon right before I left! Dagger fighting is so foreign to Keavy!
See you next event!

Friday night:
First time in a while not taking first NPC shift....so here it goes.
-Kaladonia talks in the inn, so little amount of us there but and a little rushed but Caelvan felt as though being a squire on the administrative side of things was pretty cool
-Winks memorial service, actually started to cry at some points, surprised even myself.
-Hunters come in and start taunting Keavy, Caelvan having to hold her back
-About to go to sleep just set an alarm trap so that we would be safe, when a crow flies in, and envokes nightmares to me and keavy. Intercepts Keavy's and then carries me off.....to drop me from 50 feet high, only to wake up with all limbs broken, and Keavy over him healing his body points......but pain from the broken limbs were to much
Saturday,
NPC shift
-went out as a guard escort from Kaladonia for a villager with her arm severed, Frank awesome job on that make-up dude
-then as a herald with all druidics.....flew out mauls like they were candy
-finnaly a druid with a box that had a dragon fly in it..a gift from a circle of druids....when opened 100 body healed to opener, 50 to others in a 10ft radius
Back as Caelvan
-Totem meditation, Caelvan wasn't surprised his was a falcon
-Trown into the ring by the shadow creature, almost won...but nope
-Kaladonia tables for feast, was awesome
-After a lesson went to Kaladonia to see the make of the watermelon helm and have some of franks awesome(but seedy) watermelon
-Main mod was confusing.....got dropped to serious a lot, but was given charge to the Kaladonia forces for a brief time by Colin
-Back at the inn learned Battle Cry and Quadrivium, Cavi FTW on civil servants
-Went to Kaladonia to go to sleep only to be reminded that I was invited to a bachelor party
-Came back to Kaladonia only to see spider things, hey spiders you think your the only thing that can climb? ha
Sunday
-Black crow gang thing, used my detect traps to help everyone there
-Fight up there to cover colin as he gets to the box and opens it
-Then find a door only for a box to be opened and for Zather and Caelvan to be dominated
-Last guy to kill, took FOREVER. Intercept and rend limb to Colin only to be interceded by Lathiel
-Intercept yet another rend limb targeted at Colin, had to take that one
-Finally got to play poker and make a gold, not much but I'll take what I can get.
Overall glad I could spend some time learning from Colin more, never happens

Friday night:
~ Going to the inn having forgotten my contacts, getting escorted back to Winterdark to fetch them by Moiyra and Magnus (thank you both very much) only to stop inches from Sir Cinder's face standing there in front of the tents. I might have been blind as a bat but Brian holy crap that scared me, you were so still and quiet you were practically invisible! The white hair was the only thing I saw...
~ Getting asked by Slightly Sane Billiam if he could court me, trying to deflect the question to uncle Rudolf only to have him announce that Angeliana is old enough to make that choice herself. Contemplating how to turn him down nicely and walk away as he charmed me. Thinking "Awww crap!" Explaining the situation and her ensuing confusion to Edwin afterwards and having him put a crap load of defenses on me. Thank you for looking out for my mind and sanity sir.
~ Rudolf telling her niece she needs to get out more... shocker!.. then following that with sending her out to aid with the Cyclops ordeal, even bigger shocker... Getting no benefit from "going out" except for getting wet and running into Galen. Cyclops was dead by the time we arrived, being relieved and going back to the inn safely with no violence or bloodshed witnessed!
~ Ego pissing matches between Galen and Dr. Maxwell... hilarious. Angeliana being terrified the entire time that one would actually try to hurt the other and trying to stand in the middle.
~ Heart to heart conversation with Dr. Maxwell about who Angeliana is and why she came to Travance. The following conversations about empathy, healing and the value of Angeliana's life causing Dr. Maxwell multiple and continuous facepalms. Apologizing repeatedly only to cause him to do it again with the next sentence out of my mouth. Your patience is to be commended, anyone else would have walked away after the first five minutes of that and written her off as a hopeless case.
~ Learning what undead are and being utterly disgusted and feeling nauseous right before Galen sat down and mentioned a litch. Looking up at Dr. Maxwell and very reluctantly asking: "What's a litch?" only to have him facepalm once again and tell Angeliana she couldn't handle that on the same night.
~ Trying to convince Emar that hate is never the answer. Trying to calm him down as he was attempting to get a clean bill of health from the good Dr who wasn't giving it to him, only to achieve a distraction for the Dr who stuck him with a needle. Angeliana felt so bad that she volunteered to write him the love note he needed to acquire from an Andorran.
Saturday:
~ Edwin trying to make sure Angeliana knows how to use her staff to deflect blows only to result in her hating the staff more and getting close to tears because there were so many weapons waving about. The shadow thingy showing up and interrupting said staff exercise, Angeliana feeling thankful for the interruption but thinking what the bleep is that?
~ Getting scared and running from the shadow creature and trying to hide behind Gideon since he is big and beefy only to be grabbed by Kleiden and being put under her protection. Thank you kindly my lady.
~ Being an undead for Cameron's brilliant cave / pirate treasure mod. Watching the PCs "disarm" the traps by sending Misaki first. Having them all get to the treasure and take it safely only to trigger the alarm on their way out, chasing them, as part of a horde of undead, out of a collapsing cave as Misaki's panicked voice screamed "RUN!" repeatedly. Also, Coast Havener Pirate Captain in a... dress?!? :silly:
~ Playing a raunchy procrastinating town guards-woman who was very persistent and convinced Reone after much pleading to have Cypher give her all the gold on him instead of arresting her. THEN being shoved OOG by his player for the frustration I caused him and laughing about it. Sorry for the grief but it was too much fun, I had to do it.
~ Fire elementals! Many epic battles as this NPC, one with Lord Brightstar where I was slaughtered, one with Edwin and company where I was again; slaughtered. I landed a total of 6 incinerates during this role and FINALLY during the assault on Alisandria took someone down with it! Felt very accomplished before I got hacked to pieces by them all and then got dissected by Rudolf. All of them going OOG to make sure we were having fun and that we were ok and safe, that no one was hitting too hard etc. that was really kind of you all, thank you.
~ Feast! Then mass, finally meeting someone who shared Angeliana's beliefs and views on things, huzzah for Kwildar. Also, being scared by the dirty, spitting man who was picking his nails with his axe sitting next to her during mass. Judge? I think that was you, thanks, Angeliana almost cried.
~ Seeing Galen walk into the inn carrying Ib over his shoulder... walking as if he wasn't carrying another person then plopping Ib down on a table. Holy crap Cameron you're strong...
~ Watching Dr Maxwell and Gwynedd performing re-animation on Ib before Angeliana was able to heal him. Wishing the whole time she could help or speed up the process so that they could help more people (note to self learn to be an assistant).
~ Favorite moment of the whole weekend: Wanting to heal Lord Brightstar, hearing the result of my first aid assess and not being overwhelmed by the huge numbers. Him appeasing Angeliana by letting her try to heal him not expecting her to cast Heal all wounds and getting rid of all 400 in one go, thanks to a relic given to Angeliana during feast by the awesome master Harroldson. Level two and proud! Felt on top of the moon for healing a Lord.
~ Conversation with Cedric and Dr. Maxwell which resulted in him agreeing to try some... unorthodox surgery.
~ Amazing merchant RP outside the inn with Magnus and a couple of NPCs, made me wish I had RP points to award, I couldn't stop laughing. Whoever that was... you rule.
~ Magnus ambushing poor Galen, Angeliana really wanted to stop it from happening but was told it was a necessary "lesson". Galen getting repeatedly beaten on by whoever and whatever and finally being unable to give Angeliana a straight answer as to if he was ok or not, not knowing what else to do so giving him a hug. Leave my teacher be people!
~ Being scared enough to physically shake while being escorted back to Winterdark... so many sounds of battle
Sunday:
~ Breakfast custom made to fit my culinary restrictions, thank you so much Edwin.
~ Freaking people out with my bloody bandage, refusing the many many offers I got to have someone heal it. Trying to explain how it was a necessary thing for Angeliana to learn to be in pain. Having her best friend Maralas be offended when Angeliana finally had enough and asked Cedric to take care of it instead of her or doing it herself.
~ Having Bran and others outside the Monestary suggest that she learns how to use this atrocious and gigantic weapon... only if they knew how she feels about any weapon, she almost turned around and booked it back to the inn.
~ Learning shenanigans are fun? I think.
Overall had a fantastic time and can't wait until I can attend again!

Cheers to coming back to KR one event after my 10 year, cheers to all the old school faces and the new ones, & cheers to the new Paige as well. A lot of fantastic RP and IG moments, one of my best events based on just those alone. Church of Gaia all the way & yes, Gaian girly time was hilarious and awesome.
Special thank yous go to those who lent me costuming and weapons for the weekend as well as sleep gear. Great to be back

Such an interesting event! Thank you Mike for something that will leave my character thinking for quite a while!
Highlights:
Can't wait for next event!
Highlights:
- The Gaian clergy from the destroyed temple on Friday night was a great RP moment, and one that came back to bite Belegchand in the ass the next day.
- Being more of a scholar all event than a cavalier. The last two events I was able to settle back into a scholar groove, which is always nice, especially getting answers for research.
- Being called down to figure out the arena and the shadow, and the first thought in my mind being "Well, let's find out how old it is!" Got thrown into the ring because I had to touch the Shadow to use the prayer, but it was worth it.
- NPC Shift, being the Galmachian Battlecasting Priest... Four words to make everyone realize Main Mod had officially started "Holy Word Grant Death." Between that and picking off anyone who strayed too far from the group, well, I think I made people thankful I had pretty much no real defenses.
- Coming back in game, being told about what happened, and immediately saying I was going up to Totem Pole Hill and using my promo on the ritual itself. Thank you to the few who journeyed out there with me, and who had the same reaction to the growing coyote howls
- Another big thank you to Mike Smith for staying up late after a long day JUST to give me answers to my Expert ID. I have a feeling more research will come from that shortly!
- Working on the Scavenger Hunt Sunday, and having to go all morning with a black eye for it. The reactions were hilarious.
- An important talk or two about faith. We'll see where it goes.
Can't wait for next event!

Event highlights for me were teaching Sindarion trade proficiency, being completely terrified during Main Mod, and Gypsy lessons with Tobar. That last one was probably the best RP I've done with this character yet!

Being able to sleep in Saturday as Kleiden made breakfast.
Three high end sorcery rituals - the key to consistently beating the built in failure rate is to have anyone but Jon G roll the dice.
Taking a nap in the Inn around main mod. Waking as some mid level creatures attacked the Inn, and setting up a defense and battle casting. No PCs were killed, and by funneling their attack into choke points.
Continuing my practice of shepherding some new players. Some interesting RP with Rudolf and Angel. Rudolf's telling her that a very small box would suffice to hold what would be left of Billium if he provoked me.
Finding out that the Elf in the group was Dame Hartewood's cousin after I buffed her. This combined with my sorcery for her last month, might usher in a new era.
Side bet on a game of chess with Valentine Grey (the third newcomer in the group) that will result in him looting those I kill for a share. Excellent RP all around and I look forward to their return.
Second best highlight was Andy's aforementioned reaction to the mice in my sorcery box. Something about needing a change of trousers. I lost a cashmere scarf I bought over three decades back in Scotland. Seeing Andy's Face - Priceless.
My top highlight occurred when I was walking near the monastery, and I heard Walter Cahill's Fr. Lighthammer call out "Suck a ****" and was uncertain as to whether it was an IG or OOG utterance. I mean, this is Travance, right? Asking near the clean-up hold on Sunday and discovering it was IG.

Oh, this event.
Got some REALLY good rp for Tris! Her first totem meditation was epic success, and gave me a lot of great ideas for her future. >]
Met a new satyr in town, and got to help show her around... then write war poetry? It made for a fun night.
NPC shift at main mod went really well, even though we ambushed more npc's trying to get into place than we did pc's for a while there...
And, of course, Vince's shadow creature was one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. All in all, great event!

- some great RP moments for Brunner, most notably with the satyrs.
Saturday morning
- munching on first breakfast

- History with Amizar, along with generally hanging out at the inn saturday.
- Shadow creature, and me winning and getting a +1 soak!
- getting my shield and making a wytchwood shield.
- Jalepeno hotbread at 1 AM and getting MASSIVELY tipped for it.
- The only shields around were coffin shields....gah!
- The assassin mod after main mod. 2 in the morning at the crows nest. I couldn't see 3 feet in front of me. Also....BREAK LIMB.
Sunday - Food, then the immense mess of people that was the Black crows assassin mod.
Also, a big sorry to the bard whom I was going to teach elemental to. I kinda ended up sidetracked by the black crow mod.

I had a number of highlights from my first game!
First off, thank you to everyone who took a moment to explain things to me. Especially the poor NPC Johnny who kept trying to sell a better "Lifestyle" and I kept not understanding *at all* what he was trying to imply. (I kept asking to "see" what he was selling. Then he did some crazy math with gems, the value of which I implicitly believed him about, leaving me with just enough to afford alcohol. Good man.)
I loved Friday night hanging with Nenya/Alexander/Utrid and being the responsible one while waiting for the cyclops, and writing limericks with Tris and Orie. Plus, Satyr wine + hookah = best bard lesson EVER. Thanks Remi!
Saturday I had a chance to play a deep RP role and discovered my ability to sob real tears on command. Sorry to all the people I got wet and bloody - Frank did a *phenomenal* job on my make-up. I couldn't even look at my own bloody stump.
I enjoyed playing recorder with a fellow player on Saturday night even if we weren't in tune - and I promise everyone I'll practice between games so it'll sound better next time.
And my favorite part of all might have been the will-o-wisp, which raided the Alisandria camp for newbies. Utrid tried to convince (berate/curse at /plead with/insult) us to come back to the "safety" of the camp - all while he was barefoot because his shoes were still drying out by the fire. Then of course the will-o-wisp disappeared and we had to face the reality that Utrid was *right* and we had to thank him for not letting us get killed. Hilarious.
Thanks for the amazing time!

First off, a big round of applause for Mike Smith . One of the best main mods I've ever been on., hands down.
Now, for highlights!
Getting to main mod about 35 minutes before everyone else, holding a divine sanctuary for twenty of them, then nearly bleeding out for a 20 minute death count thanks to mass, and just barely surviving. Absolutely epic RP with James Jones as his Galmachian, especially for James: "You're very brave." Remi: "I am a Priestess and a Witch Hunter. Bravery is not a choice."
Then, Main Mod. Getting dropped into crit something like four times thanks to all the Grant Deaths being thrown around. Getting told to stay behind with the healers and responding, "I'm sorry. I can't. Bardics work in the circle and I still have bardic potential left. I need to be out there helping. I know it's dangerous, I know I'm probably going to die. But I can't just stay here and do nothing."
I still can't believe that Main Mod didn't kill me. Thank you to everyone who made sure Remi got up and stayed up!
So speaking of Witchhunter! A big thank you to Drew Benton and Cooper for a lot of really great roleplay, in particular my actual lesson- Kiellor and Seamus are just totally badass, that's all there is to it. And Remi's starting to get there too- slowly, but surely. Though apparently I need "more sass."
Other fantastic RP moments include: dealing with the Orfin drama Friday night, teaching Ginny bardics, RPing with the Gaian woman NPC on Saturday, Meg C you did a fantastic job. Of course, clergy antics were wonderful, and our first council meeting went pretty well considering how many times it was postponed. Mass, also, was fantastic.
All in all, marvelous weekend. Thanks everyone for making it awesome!!
