I'm looking for a backpack that would easily fit into a fantasy setting. Any suggestions?

There are plenty of places that make canvas backpacks that shut with buckles.  Alternatively you can contact one of the many people who advertixe their sewing on these forums.

I use a Duluth pack, and I am happy with it.

They can be pricey, but they are great quality, and some of the day packs come in different colors to match your costuming colors.

I use an East German military backpack, it is a stripped camo colour (tan and really dull almost gray) its made of canvas and uses buckles. it also has alot of rings that can hang items off. If you cant find something like that, perhaps something in leather or heavy Duck cloth could be made up. If you want me to look and estimate cost and or come up with a concept , you could send me a PM with what you want your backpack to do for you (how big ect). I can also swing by the surplus place where i got mine and see if they still have any.

If you aren't too picky, I have a swiss army pack (green) that you can just have in exchange for some food at market time, or a beer or two after an event.  Let me know.  It's not canvas, it's kind of like heavy raincoat material, but textured similar enough to leather that you can call it Lizard-skin IG, though I wouldn't tell the Lizard-Kin that. :-P

If no one has taken you up on that offer, Mike.  I would like to borrow it for the September event, as it occurs to me that I have no period satchel/pack, and will likely have no time to procure one before then.

Sounds good, just remind me and I'll make sure it's in my car.

Just wanting to drop you a reminder about this one, Mike.  If that's still in your possession, think I could borrow it? :)

I just put it in my car last night so I wouldn't forget it.  Brought it last event, and forgot you weren't coming.
