I recently purchased a steel cuirass for what I thought was a pretty good deal and wore it to my first event here.

Where it promptly fell apart.

The breast and backplate themselves are completely fine, it's the leather side straps that were poorly made and were torn from their rivets by light jossling. Three of the damn things came free that way and it's not really possible to just pop them back into place.

To that end I'm looking for someone with the tools and expertise to do one of two things: Either reattach the straps somehow, or better yet, replace them with better straps and/or better rivets that aren't going to tear off when you look at them funny.

I'll post pictures of exactly what I've got later this evening.

Haha, you know what I completely forgot to do this. Here goes:

One side where both buckles have torn from the rivets completely. Other side only one has.

Closeup of a rivet.

The whole mess.

I don't even remember, but it was a bargain basement price for a steel cuirass, like.. 150 or so. If it's selling cheap it's prolly made cheap, lesson learned I guess.

I have some gorilla glue if you'd like to try that this weekend?
