A lot of the fun of the game is actually discovering these things in game - there's not a guide / cheat sheet to tell you these things, you need to discover them on your own.

Wait a sec... so those online .pdf's I bought titled "How to powerlevel your KR toon from 1 to 60", "Trade Skill: Tailoring (How not to get skinned by advancing your skill)", and "How to 5-man the Inverted Tower" from Allakhazam are worthless? ???
Next you'll tell me that Chinese gold farmer I paid $200.00 to get KR gold also will jip me. :'(

Perhaps I could interest you in a seldom used bridge in Travance, Paul?
Only if you'll jump off it.
On a more serious note... there was a note that said if a skill exists In-Game and a fellow player has it, then the player must learn from his/her fellow player and no NPC teacher will come out. Even if the characters were diametrically opposed to one another IG-wise, this is still the case... correct?

BTW - I can build the bridge that you can buy that you can have Charlie jump from. How high do you want it?

"Find out IG."
Sorry Roy, its like genetic memory at this point. OK, transfer RNA.
I called it getting FOIGed, sometimes if feels kinda like knight realms hazing, but it's not for that purpose (or is it? haha).
Is the world filled with giant dancing man-eating spiders? FOIG!
Does the church require any specific attire for their priests? FOIG!
If my character really Frosty the Snowman, and so I was born this morning? FOIG
But really it's important that we have these strict rules or the line between what you would know and what you wouldn't know would be too fuzzy. We assume your character probably never did too much before coming to Travance and led a typically sheltered middle ages experience. (Which is why you enter travance knowing so little, like maybe the beginnings of a profession). So while sometimes it can be frustrating (wouldn't my character have HEARD if we had bears in this world?!?) It allows for the world to be flexible (maybe we do have a tribe of canniblistic hobbits somewhere, then again maybe we don't you'll have to find out in game) and adds to the mystery of the world and the helps you RP not knowing anything outside of the little place you grew up.
well, that's my take on getting FOIGed at least.

Where was this note?
We'll never deny someone lower list teaching, although we prefer inter-PC interactions. If a character can't find anyone IG to teach him, they should note this by filling out the Event Recap form. We'll look at the situation, and determine if it warrants sending out an NPC Teacher.
Note that what happens IG is a separate issue. If you piss off your NPC teacher In-Game, that is YOUR problem.

It references higher lists, but I wonder about lower lists.
