Now, however, I have no more, and will be attending the June Event (Baring something happening between now and then, of course.)
I had a couple of questions. Well, one, really, for now. The rest will come later, I'm sure, after I finish re-reading the rules.
I'm planning on bringing a large group of new players (Somewhere around 8, I think, besides me). Will I be able to get the referal build for all of them, or even any of them, if I haven't played here yet?
Thanks!

To answer your question, yes, even brand new players can receive the referral build which is +2 build per person you bring to the game to PC.
Hope to see you soon

Can that build be used at my first event, or does it have to be rolled over?

Thanks for the welcome. I'm glad to be coming.
Coast Haven characters can buy the skill Tolerance. Can that be bought more than once, in addition to the racial they start with?
Also, do you earn build from service points on months you don't attend an event?

For any further purchase of those skills you would need to gain access to learning the skill from a profession list and purchase it at the Build cost on that profession list.
As to service point conversion I do not believe it converts if you do not attend. I could be wrong on this so I will touch base with the Character Card Officer who actually does the work of updating cards and find out for sure.

So, question. If I bring a large amount of people to the game, is that a bad thing?
I'm putting together a group of people, and right now, I've got about 13 or so.

Just keep in mind that cabins usually only house around four people each, so if you want ones all right next to eachother you may have to do some searching around camp or arrive early. While there are a handful of larger lodges, they usually get claimed by specific groups of people. Also, there is a good chance you may not all be able to sign up for the same NPC shift, as there are assigned numbers for each.
As a suggestion, to keep the Rules Marshals sane when you all show up en masse to make characters and sign in, try to have something written up regarding what you'd like to do for a PC - if everyone has stuff worked out ahead of time, it cuts down major time from searching through the rule books and figuring stuff out at such a busy time - and if you write them up well, you will make an excellent impression on whoever ends up helping you.

Unfortunately I need to be the bearer of bad news as one of the rules regarding character creation was spoken incorrectly.
From the online rulebook
"6. Determine your starting Build
Determine how many points of Build your character will start off with. As a starting character you are given 10 Build. If you have acquired Service Points (SP) you may spend up to 200 SP to gain an additional 1 to 2 Build. If you purchased the Extra Event Build, you would gain an additional 1 Build. All together you may start your character off with anywhere between 10 and 13 Build that you may immediately spend on skills before starting the game. (You may also have more build if you retire an old PC, but that is not covered here.) If you somehow have more than 13 build when making a new PC, you may not spend more than 13 to start - the rest must be saved for later. The only exception to this is Retirement Build and the build gained through purchasing a hard copy of the Rulebook (this is not currently available).
Regardless of how much build the character starts with all normal limits (such build spent on body per level) apply at character creation.
Once the PC is in the game, you can spend her build as quickly as prerequisites allow. "
If you have any questions please feel free to send me a PM.

Would we be able to be a group, ICly? Like, I was thinking we could be a traveling caravan of some sort.

In-Game Caravans are welcome, and can be a lot of fun - it's true we have a plethora of Gypsies at the moment, though. You could do a group all from the same area, or a mixed caravan that was traveling together when they came to Travance.

Also keep in mind that when choosing sleeping quarters, a cabin full of new players surrounded by cabins of new players is not a positive survival choice. It would be better, IMO, to have experienced player's cabins adjacent, so they can hear your death cries and come to help/revive you.
Not that Travance is a dangerous place by night.

If I brought a ballista that fired NERF arrows, would I be able to use it, if I could get the proper skills?

Before you go and build anything that you are unsure about I suggest looking at the Weapons & Armor section on the navigation bar to your left, which is where you can find the specs for weapons.

All weapons in our game fall into predetermined size criteria that determine what type of weapon it is. If this thing somehow fit these criteria and is determined to be safe for use in combat, then yes. If you have something that is outside the weapon criteria, or is determined to be unsafe in any way, you will not be able to use it.

Okay, THIS makes me curious. Is there a siege size weapon catagory, and if not... could we make one?
