First off, welcome to Knight Realms. I'm Matt, one of the New Player Marshals, and I can help out with a few of your questions.
First, head into your profile and add your Real name in your signature. You don't have to have your full last name, but it helps to identify who people are out of game, in addition to being forum policy.
Second, Knight Realms is a lightest touch boffer LARP. While the combat may be intense at times, it is not a full contact LARP. We emphasize roleplay to further the game just as much as we do skill with a Boffer or Latex weapon. We have seen upwards of 200+ people at an event, depending on the time of year.
Third, there aren't clans so to speak, but different lands and groups you can join up with in game that can help you out on multiple fronts.
