Just two weeks to go. Cannot describe how excited I am to start playing with you folks. Although I'll just be NPcing the first couple of months, I'm really looking forward to learning about this world you have all created. See you all soon.

Hello, so an issue popped up with one of the people I'm traveling with. He was unable to get off of work friday. He still plans on attending. I'm wondering exactly what time new player training begins? I've read both 8pm and 9. Second, say he is too late for npt can he still attend? Is logistics still open for him to check in? Thanks in advance.

My wife and i will be running two classes, one at 7,one at 8. If you can manage to get to one, that would be perfect, so that you can get your friend to meet with us and we'll give him his own personal class :)

Otherwise, find any new player Marshal and they can get you set up

Yes, he can still attend. If your friend bumps into me, I can give him the basics. We understand that you may forget some of the things we talk about in the training sessions, but everyone forgets things occasionally. Say "Clarify" if you don't know what something does or go out of game (either with a white headband or your fist on your head) to ask a question if you need help. We're all here to help each other and some people who've played for years, still forget.

Yes, Logistics will still happily accept your friend's cash. ;)

And we, the players, all know who and where to point you to if you get lost or need some guidance! Even if we just stole your gold or tried to rip your head off IG, we're good folk OOG, just here to have fun with you and each other.

Have a question, ask away. We'll get you to someone with an answer.

Hah would you call me crazy if I told you that having someone attempt to rip my head of within a fantasy setting is on my bucket list. Thanks everyone for the good advice. I of course have another question. My friend, the same mentioned above, plans on playing an assassin. I just stumbled onto the section on poisons and writs. Will he be unable to use poisons until he receives a writ? Or can he use them and its just considered unlawful?

The part about writs, poisons and using them is a "find out in game" situation. Anything beyond what's in the Baronial Library is considered in game knowledge, so if you can locate something in there, that may help.

What confused me was how a player starts each game with one of each known potion. Thanks for the information.

To clarify his question, I think he's asking whether MECHANICALLY his friend can use poisons without possessing a writ. He's not asking about the IG lawful implications.

Yes you start your first event only with one of each recipe you know. Beyond that you need to craft them.

Thank you. That is what I'm asking. Since he has no writ at the start of the game can he even carry the potions? If he can use them from the start then what are the repercussions if using them without a writ?

Yes technically you can carry them without having the writ. But the repercussions of using them without one, or being caught, must be found out in game. There are resources that indicate possible punishments listed on the sidebar under the Baronial Library under In Game tab of the website. That info in the Baronial Library is considered common in game knowledge. There is plenty of role play associated with the legality of them, how and when they are used, and the repercussions.

I'm sure he will appreciate the roleplay involved. Thanks a lot for the clarification.
