Seriously. "The town battles a pair of Mezzoth's"  was actuall;y on the website.

Im sure nothing we filmed is more embarassing than that cinematic masterpiece.

Lets see it already. Even if its just for the lulz.

Blooper reel included please.

Craig,
I'm sure the Knight Realms staff appreciates your enthusiasm to see the results of the filming projects but the sarcasm is unnecessary.  James works really hard on the end product for everything for the website and if it does not meet the highest standards it does not make the cut, so be patient with him and please appreciate all the work he puts into the game.
If you really need to see the uncut versions of the reels I'm sure you can PM James and he would be happy to work something out with you.  :)

hahaha ya, the old videos are pretty crappy. I did fully edit the first one we did, and I liked it allot. The file size was a little big though and I wasn't sure how to reduce it without reducing quality.

James,

Why not just do what most trailers or small movies do online, offer the viewing in low and high quality.  Just a thought.

The Mezzoth video was filmed in 2001 with a camera that took a 1.44 MB floppy as its media - not even a memory stick or video tape.  It was also filmed entirely on the fly, unscripted, when I happened to be at one of my first events (it was my 3rd, I think - my first event at Hickory Run) with the camera out as the NPCs came around the corner.  Given that it was totally unplanned, that's pretty good footage. ;)  8 years is a long time when it comes to digital camera technology - that thing was state of the art at the time .

1.44 MB floppy

It was a dark time, an age of AOL, before the light of Google allowed surfing deeper into the web, to all corners of the intermachines.

I still remember the demonic screams of the modems, the daemons of web applications, the load times.

It is a mercy that the twitter generation only knows the pain of the fail whale.

Couldn't find the film in question on the site (but it's early and I have refrigerator eye), but wanted to pass along this tip, in case it might be of help to anyone.

Blip.tv lets you encode video files into .flv format and stores them on their server. From there, you can generate embed code for videos of different sizes, eliminating file size problems. It's just like YouTube, but with higher fidelity. The service has a lot of other great extras as well, from the capacity to create channels to the ability to run ads with your video. And it's free.

If you want to see what it looks like, this site uses all blip video ( www.nyc24.org/2008/image/index.html ).
