I know this is a long drive, but if any of you can put together a party, we would LOVE to get some more experienced players at this event (right now we are 60% new players, which is actually pretty cool because I like their enthusiasm and reactions to stuff).
It's the weekend after the next KR event. If you can't make it up, PLEASE cut and paste this info and e-mail to your friends. (Sorry to be pushy, but we really want to fill up this event to raise as much money as we can for Foodshare -- the different between a full game and a half-full game is the difference between giving 25% of our revenue to them and 50%).
Thanks!
Clay

Announcing "The Roar Of Distant Dragons", a weekend-long boffer LARP adventure.
Where: Charlton, MA (at yeoldecommons.com, with beautiful heated cabins).
When: October 16-18 (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon).
Why: To have an incredible time, mixing new players with those from existing larps in the area.
What: All proceeds benefit Foodshare.org.
Who: ANSTARRA.com (A New System To Augment Regional Roleplaying Activity): a group dedicated to bringing new players to
larp, while also entertaining and reinvigorating veterans, by combining the fun and simple rules of boffer fighting
clubs together with the deep immersion and non-stop excitement of a weekend-long adventure.
Plot Summary: The Oracle of Rynnaven foretold that Duke Ragnar, the reigning leader of Nygaard, would die by dragon
attack during the black moon after the first frost of 1209. Dragons have not been seen in Anstarra in over 500 years.
Nevertheless, Duke Ragnar needs help to prevent this prophecy from coming true.
This is a heavily plotted event, so there will be a lot to do, even if you're not very good at "making your own fun".
This is also a great event to bring new players to, because we have a streamlined rules system, and we provide weapons
and costumes for those who need them. Please forward this info to anyone who may not be on this list.
The pre-registration deadline is September 30th. Players who sign up by that date will get a $15 discount AND a "skull
pendant" (rumored to bring you back from Death if you happen to find yourself in that predicament).
Event info and signup links:

Hope to see you there!
P.S. Please forward this to anyone you know in the Northeast who might be able to come and enjoy this great event! Thanks!

"Ok we can attack... but if we miss, we'll hit the villagers."
"I'm willing to take that chance!"
Things I am no longer allowed to do in an RPG :
31. The backup trap handler is not whoever has the most HP at the time.
73. Not allowed to name my cudgel Ceremonial Whoopass Stick.
74. My thief's battle cry is not "Run And Live"

Foodshare sounds like a decent charity.
