Weather this weekend was created by Andy (Andy)
Just looked at the weather report for this weekend since it was so cold today. Looks like it's supposed to get down to about 9 degrees Saturday night and a little windy to top that off. Is there any chance that encounters and modules are being planned for warmer spaces or are we likely going to be "left out in the cold" (so to speak) all weekend?
Will the propane heaters in the statehouses be adequate to keep players warm? I'm not sure how those things work, but I was pretty cold back in December and I don't think it was this cold then.
Not trying to bring anyone down, I'm super excited for the event (especially since I see Kristen is running it )but I'm just trying to take as much care as I can to not be seriously effected by this cold weather and being out playing in it. I'm also shockingly ill informed about cold weather dangers, I always neglected to read the posts by Matt and Geoff talking about cold weather dangers and prevention methods...

The temperature in the Pendarvin State Huse was under 30F on Tuesday. I have a space heater that I will be firing up on Thursday day, and will augment it with propane starting Friday afternoon. There is room for a total of 11 people, assuming both queen beds are occupied by two people. So far, we have only 6 confirmed.
I expect the interior temperature to be in the high 50s or low 60s by lay-on.

It doesn't really need to be said, as we're all reasonably smart people with access to the internet (& therefore all the information in the world at our fingertips), that the weather is going to be cold & people should be prepared.

Thanks Paul, I am preparing myself as best as can be and reading up on some safety tips
I was just interested if the heaters in the state houses will be sufficient, if more would be needed or something. I was also wondering if I should plan for long outdoor encounters as usual or if the ST/MM staff was planning on adjusting to the dangerous temperatures, for both PC and NPC sake.
I just don't want to have to miss out on a cool scene like the Xualla one because my fingers are going numb hah.
James answered most of my questions in his announcement though, so thanks.

I know that MMs have been asked to take care when it comes modules outdoors. That being said, it's hard to completely avoid it (We simply do not have a large indoor space aside from the inn for mods). If it helps I seriously hate being cold, and have to personally marshal my outdoor mods, so I promise not to let anything go on longer than people are (hopefully) enjoying it. Also mod campfires. That will be a thing.

Also mulled cider! I just got 3 gallons of cider and Jen said she would be cooking up some as well for when I'm doing NPC duty and monster marshal training.
