Hello all!

My brother is planning on coming with me to the July Event (Yes, three events from now), and we are trying to put together his gear and garb.

One of the things on his list is a 2-Handed Edged. Cue the screams from the back of the room!

Yes, we have heard the many stories of how difficult it is to find a decent 2-hander. Which is why we come to you now! Some of you have dealt with this, and will have good leads for us to pursue.

We're looking for something befitting a Barbarian, of course!

What brands/dealers would you recommend? What would you 100% recommend we steer clear of?

This is new territory for me, as a novice Double Small Florentine and novice Solo One-Handed Edged user. Any help would be appreciated!

This is a difficult question. What length 2 handed edge are you looking for?

I mean, the longer the better, but from our first searches, we know that longer 2HEs are harder to find. Really, anything that fits the rulebook (48"-60") and won't come up slightly too short or slightly too long to count.

here are some manufacturers/sellers that make some decent two handers, though sizes/price options may vary, hope these help or at least steer you folks in the right direction.

www.mitryl.eu/

www.eldritch.com/ (i highly recommend them since their weapons are light and sturdy,i currently use a 48 inch great sword bought from them awhile back for my PC,they are expensive though since they are based out of the uk considering shipping costs but its a worthy long term investment)

www.ateliers-nemesis.com/?language=en

www.latex-weaponry.com/ (based out of texas, not a manufacturer just a mass/individual seller, they may have a good two hander from the product lines they have in stock though)

Chris,

Thanks for your help, that gave us a lot of leads.

We'd looked at Mitryl before, none of their current stock even breaks Bastard right now, unfortunately.

I'm leary of 48"ers because they can come up too short, and the Zweihander looks like it'd get dropped because of the sharpness of the edges on the upper guard.

Nemesis also came up short, unfortunately.

We found two prospects on Latex Weaponry, though, so thanks for the help.

Any opinions from anyone else on this sword , or this one , or that sword ?

I always recommend Forgotten Dreams Weapons. I have two swords and a spear by them and they are really light and easy to swing.

Since your friend is looking for a barbarian, I'd recommend ' that sword ' It's the cheapest of the three and because of its simplicity, the sword would look appropriate for any type of 2HE fighter.

However, if your brother's character is the type of guy who enjoy having fancy runes on his killin' stick, I'd recommend Sword #2. It's pretty long, but it's not over 5'.

Sword #1 looks a bit elegant, which might not be what your brother is hoping for, but if he likes the design, I'd go for it. Since the sword is fairly close to the regulation length, I'm not sure how RMs would react, so you'd have to ask one.

As far as combat capabilities go, Conor has already stated that all three of a high quality, so you should be fine in that regard.

By my hand,
Professor Terzak Winstonshire

I feel good and comfortable with the Forgotten Dreams ones, then, thank you Conor.

But, "That Sword" is closer to our price range (and Jensen's aesthetic preferences), and it is from Iron Fortress. It's also a bit more neutral if he decides to change races later on. Has anyone had any problems with Iron Fortress weapons in the past, or are they a sound manufacturer?

They're pretty sound, just like all latex weapons, watch the tip. Get some silicone spray to if you can and take care of it

That sword is pretty good.

I'd say try to find the manufacturer who made my present one but that's actually impossible because nobody knows who initially built it, and I had Sediq rebuild it for me over the winter after over a decade of play in various player's hands.

This is all fantastic, thank you guys so much! You are the best.

Wow, that story is even more complicated than I thought it was, Will! Yeah, I heard about your troubles finding a two-hander during the May event, and appreciate your help. Nobody should have to go through that!

We'll see you in July with "That Sword"!

We've reconsidered and decided that borrowing would be a better option for Jensen's first event. With that considered, are there any 2-handed Edged weapons in Logistics that would be available to loan out, or would anyone be willing to offer theirs to us?

Thanks so much for the help, again, guys. I've been egging him to come for awhile, and now that he's actually coming, I want to make sure he has a good time. :)

It's likely that Jensen would be able to borrow a two-hander from Logistics.
