April Alt portion question: Reason for Non Casting lists?

If this belongs somewhere else I apologize.

If we wanted to play a non-casting list for the Alt portion, could we have an example of why we’d be at the “magic” academy?

“All other Classes/Races are available for play at this event.”

I don’t particularlly want to play a caster, but I’m having a hard time figuring out a reason for non-casters in general to be there.

The common answer I've been giving is, Not every student has to be that far in their studies of magic. Some could have just arrived and are still learning theory before actually practicing casting.

Everyone is there to learn magic, some are just further along than others.
