Questions on Chaotic Champion was created by Moostrav Potrevski ()
Assuming this is the right place for questions.

1. Chaotic Champion? Do they need to die again before they can change back into their character, and what is a Power Template?

2. About how powerful is a CR4?

1. Yes, the Champion would need to die to turn back to normal. However, since this effect can only be used on willing targets (you cannot use Resurrection on a target that is unwilling) and Chaotic Champion does not place the target under the Hexer's control, they can decide at any time that they want to dust and go back to be Resurrected normally.

1a. A Power Template is a stat increase used on NPC cards. They may be added to Summoned creatures to bring them to the correct CR, but not on Chaotic Champion - if you want to turn someone into a lesser powered creature, they must use the NPC card at-level.

2. A CR 4 creature is designed to be engaged by three level 4 characters. These stats will be available in Logistics starting this coming event.

So do we still need to go through all the three gates when using this ability and take the 15 minutes or so to bring them back?

Like if somebody went down in a fight, I can’t just raise them back up all of a sudden so they can continue in the fight? Because it says they need a brand new card and all that.

Also, can this skill be used on NPC’s that we kill during an encounter? And if we can, how long does it last?

Would the CR be 2 higher if someone also had summoner from a second purchase of doomcaller

Correct, it is not a "battle rez."

It can only be used on targets that are Resurrectable. NPCs that respawn are not Resurrectable (because they are a limited resource and taking NPCs out of the encounter pool can damage encounter balance.) The target must also be willing to be Resurrected. If you are looking to gain minions, the skill to use would be Summon.

Would the CR be 2 higher if someone also had summoner from a second purchase of doomcaller

No, Summoner only affects Chaotic servants (Summon) not Champions. I will add text to clarify in the next version of the PDF.
