Awards for April 25th-27th, 2008 (Anniversary Event)
Chris K. - Krog
Chris Kane as Krog the Ogre - Just when you least expect it! As a departure from what we normally know him as, Chris did a fantastic job as part of the group that spurred the PvP conflict. He was able to create a realistic depiction of a fantasy creature. If Ogres truly existed, you would expect them to act as Chris played him.
Theresa - Goblin
Theresa as her Goblin - It was surprising to see Theresa play such a different role than we are used to. From her makeup to her mannerisms, she was awesome in every way. She got into trouble, but tried to act as though she was helping. She was sometimes creepy, smarmy, and cute or cowering from the orcs. Great job Theresa!
Zach T. - Hobgoblin Priest
Zach as his Hobgoblin Priest - Zach was not only an instrumental figure in the plot, but the object of a lot of the PvP conflict, which made him one of the most dynamic figures out there. It made his role-play all the more noticeable and impressive. He was the very model of an authoritative figure, without being overbearing and brutish. He played intelligently and diplomatically, not like a thug. His RP bringing people through the focus, as well as being brought back through himself, was outstanding.
Charna
Charna - She was one of several that volunteered to NPC the event and went way above and beyond her obligation. She was constantly helpful all weekend, from going out to get dinner for everyone setting up on Friday night (with Damien’s help as well) through cleanup on Sunday, she helped clean up all of the primary mod sites. She was utterly tireless and cheery at every turn and really helped make the event that much more fun for the rest of us.
Craig O.
Craig O. - There were MANY who did an outstanding job. (including everyone who showed up early), but Craig really went above and beyond, even when he was in an accident in the morning, but rented a car and made it to the event on Thursday night anyway. He did a good job with Ruua the Dryad and really got into the part. He ran a mod that was fun for those involved and helped out with everything he could from Thursday night on.Kristen M. - Ayame
Kristen as Ayame - Scary when evil and caring when good. Kristen really put a lot of time and effort into the story behind this character as well, from writing journal pages to setting up her shrine. After reading her journal, you couldn’t help but be concerned for this priestess who was slowly being corrupted. Her RP during the ritual was frightening and realistic. Her role as an NPC was crucial to the player’s immersion into that part of the storyline.
The event was great and almost every person went to new heights of role playing for the Knight Realms 10th anniversary. From orcs and Londwynians to dark dwarves and goblins/hobgoblins, everyone did a stunning job. Even the role playing on Sunday morning went up a notch as well. Everyone deserves a round of applause and a BIG “Thank You!” from the staff.
