Awards for August, 2009
Laughing Bear and Silent Bird
Craig O. and Julia Hill as their barbarians Laughing Bear and Silent Bird. They never broke character and most everyone thoroughly enjoyed role-playing with the pair. Even watching them interact with others was enjoyable, as they played primitive without acting stupid, and proud without being obnoxious which is something you rarely see done so well. We are proud to give these two the award for August. Others characters of note: Dae the elven craftsman and archer, Collin McKraeger, and Aleister.
Bill Friederich
This month we'd like to shine the spotlight on Bill Friederich. Just a normal guy pulling a normal NPC shift, but he did all of his parts with enthusiastic role-play and demonstrated a keen understanding of the NPC's mission as entertainment for the PCs. Even while leading a group of dancing jokesters just before the feast, he had a good grasp on keeping that funny without it devolving into rank foolishness. Bill is proof that it is not always a single role for NPC that gets you noticed. Taking your basic NPC roles to this level of dedication not only helps those running things but increases the enjoyment of the game for everyone. Congrats Bill, and thank you! Another NPC to mention: Shawn Z. as Reinhardt.
Shawn Zipay
Shawn Zipay is everyone's favorite guy. His qualities as a person make him fun to role-play with, but we are always impressed with how much effort he puts forth to work for our game - even after an eight hour commute each way. He is willing to be on call for medical issues, take tons of pictures, as well as NPC. His good intentions are evident when he assists with plotlines to help the friends he has made here at KR have a better time (...even if he is Canadian!). Thanks for your dedication Shawn!
