Awards for December, 2014
Aaron F. as Utgard
Aaron does such a phenomenal job of transitioning between the firm yet approachable civilian Utgard to the "Revel in the Glory of My God" battle priest of Enax. From day one, he came into this game with a very clear presence as his character, and he has continued to bring that same level of RP to game with him each subsequent event. His interactions with Amalthea and other PCs this month were specifically powerful, and his Inn-wide Blade of Victory buff is always inspiring to watch. When turned on the battlefield, he took down a huge number of PC’s before anyone was able to fix him. His RP was nothing short of impressive. He always brings his A-game and his armor looks fantastic!
Chris Zipeto as the Yule Devil and Nick B. as the Frost Giant
Chris Zipeto as the Yule Devil:
With what could easily have been a throwaway NPC, we’re quite certain that Chris’ take on this encounter shook a few long term character plans and turned them on their head. Chris made sure to get up close and personal with many PCs and even found a way to creepily weird out those who kept their safe-but-intrigued distance. Job well done Chris! We heard nothing but awesome stories about how much fun people had with this NPC. You also looked fabulous.
Nick Burnosky as the Frost Giant:
We really enjoy seeing Nick put his all into every role that is thrown his way and know that he can be counted on to deliver. This NPC was no different -- it was a truly awesome encounter. He easily adapted to the extended length of the fight, maintained an amazing level of energy, and kept the PCs engaged for about 45 minutes while dealing with a myriad of skills and abilities. He took a literal beating for a very long time and nothing stopped him. Well done, Nick!
Charlie
Charlie goes above and beyond constantly for the improvement of the game in terms of campwork, cabins, everything. He did a ton this event -- and not just in that aspect -- but with making sure that players were well fed. Charlie left the camp to go on an emergency meat run for Feast, giving up some significant game time of his own to do so. He even spent some extra time hands-on in the kitchen to help ease the delay. Thanks for all of your help and dedication!
Honorable Mention: Ben Oakley
While Ben is not a New Player Marshal, we would like to recognize him for stepping up to help on several new player mods when other marshals are short. There is a lot of OOG prep that goes into these mods, with a very distinct storyline being run. Ben has slipped right into it and really given the new players something to look forward to.
Both Main Mod Sites
Between the LED balloons and the awesome Null Prison, each site gave off such a delightfully creepy vibe. Well decorated, well lit, and with music, it was a wonderful “end-of-all-things” atmosphere that kept us completely immersed and on edge throughout the night. On top of that, the lighting was enough to ensure visibility, while not sacrificing night vision. Absolutely worth leaving warm, cozy buildings and trudging out into the snow for!
