Awards for May, 2010 (Alt Event)
Jenn's Priest of Galladel
There were so many awesome characters this event that it was very difficult to decide. So many people were memorable, but the one name that all the marshals and other players alike kept talking about was Jenn as her Galladelian priestess. She was giving last rites to fallen PC and NPC alike and sang hymns to the fallen. She had tears in her eyes when hearing the stories of the fallen Paladin and really pulled off a great rendition of her character and captured the spirit of what we all want to see in our game. Forced IG to keep a low profile because of the situation in the Kingdom, she was an excellent example of understated piety. Thanks Jenn, for doing such a great job!
Melizar, captain of the Black Guard
"Melizar, captain of the Black Guard," played by Ryan Alin. He was creepy and disgusting at the same time. It was so refreshing to see a "real" golbin concept pulled off. Melizar begged his master to torture townspeople, attacked from behind and ran when the fighting got too deep. He could often be seen "peeing himself behind a tree," when the battle got too thick. Every time he came around, it set off people’s nerves, as he sniffed and tried to touch them. Awesome job Ryan! We also need to mention how awesome Jeff was as the Ghoul Lord also. He stayed in makeup the whole weekend, and the scene he set at his “home” was epic and something to be remembered.Jason Michaeli and Walter Soto
There were many people who made this event awesome, but two people were the MOST helpful to everyone running the event: Walter Soto and Jason "Cappy" Michaeli. The only 2 full-time NPCs, also helped Jeff with running the monster camp all weekend. They never complained as they worked very hard. This is a quote from Jeff: “They did everything asked of them and went beyond the norm. I have to say if I ever run something like this again I want both Jason and Walter on my team. They worked their asses off as NPC's and were my shadows. They helped set up, stayed in makeup and costume, and played zombies like I like 'em: slow, dumb, and uncaring. I could not have done it all without them period.” Thanks from all of us!
Cabin #3 in the Alisandrian area
Cabin #3 in what is normally the Alisandria area was the best we had seen. It was set with a nice mix of props and tapestries. The sleeping areas were neatly kept. Thank you for setting up a great IG area, even for just the alt event. Although not PC setup, Jeff’s graveyard area was above and beyond. Stink bombs, fog, explosions, and creepy music set a wonderful scene for everyone.
